  1. Will the Buy Early Get Now promotion still be available online starting tomorrow? The closest shop participating in it is in Rochester, which is two hours away. I wonder if this is the entire tour? There are some odd gaps. As it stands now, I'll go to either Philadelphia (even though the Electric Factory is a cinderblock shoebox), DC, or Richmond. Either that, or there's a very small chance I may end up at the Minneapolis show.
  2. LiveNation is even worse than Ticketmaster. I had to pay $15 in fees for a $32 Andrew Bird ticket recently It's disappointing to hear that there seem to be so many more fees through the new presale system. Isn't that part of the point of presales--to save fans from having to spend so much on processing fees and service charges?
  3. You know, if it were $45, I'd do the Allentown date for sure, since I"ll be in eastern PA visiting my family after a long weekend trip catching Wilco in Wilmington. But I paid around $75 to see him last summer, and it was an incredibly disappointing show. I don't know if he was half-assing it because it was a really small market, or if he was having an off night, but it was the worst of the five or six of his shows I've seen. I'll think about it, but unless I'm absolutely in love with this album, I'll probably skip it.
  4. Why not go to Wilmington by yourself and Brooklyn with your friend?
  5. Ashes and ALTWYS back to back? I may have had a meltdown if I'd been there.
  6. My top three are Daydream Nation, Sonic Nurse, and Washing Machine. I also like Goo and Rather Ripped. Dirty is probably my least favorite album of the ones I have. I just got Experimental Jet Set Trash and No Star a few weeks ago, and it's still sinking in. I'm itching for them to announce summer tour dates, since they're the only band besides Wilco I want to try to catch a few times.
  7. I think this ends up being the closest show for me, so chances are I'll be there. I definitely will if it's the last show for that leg of the tour besides the festival date in Minnesota.
  8. I haven't had any problems with Trader's Little Helper.
  9. That's Nels saying that Jeff feels uncomfortable sometimes, or at least acts like he does.
  10. I was planning to see her tonight, but I don't think it's going to work out.
  11. I saw it in a theater here last night, and I definitely need to watch it again once I get my DVD to be able to comment on it fully, but it seemed to me at times it wasn't quite sure what it wanted to be. Undeniably, though, I think it does capture a "slice of life" of Wilco circa February and March 2008, and it will stand the test of time for that. Just like with Greg Kot's book, I think it does what it sets out to do, but with both works I felt like there could've been more.
  12. I've traded with him before. He's not a scalper; he just wants to go to these shows. Cut him some slack, dcarter.
  13. poppydawn was going to pick it up for me at Euclid Records in St. Louis tonight, since none of my local shops are carrying it and I'd wanted to support Record Store Day, but it's sold out I'm going to see it tomorrow night, but I guess I'll have to order a copy online.
  14. You'll have to download the torrent, then convert the FLAC files to mp3s. It's easier than it sounds. I use Trader's Little Helper to convert files. There's more information about torrents and conversion in the In A Future Age forum.
  15. This is very cool. I hope you all have a blast! I had fun in Knoxville when I was there last summer
  16. I'll be seeing this tonight on the big screen
