Both nights are in the Owl&Bear, I downloaded both of them last week.

Bono is such a fake, I wouldn't be surprised if he hired somebody to find out a hometown reference at each gig. It's funny that he mentioned Wilco as two of the last three times I've seen Wilco in Dublin Jeff was slagging him off.
-
I forgot to mention Country Disappeared, that says it all really. File it under 'meh'.

Great: BBN, One Wing, Deeper Down, I'll Fight Good: Solitaire Meh: You Never Know, You and I, Sonny Feeling, Wilco The Song (should have been kept as a live track only or a b-side) Bad: Everlasting Everything The great and good above would have made a super five track EP.

Have to agree with all the previous posts about how good Summerteeth is on vinyl, it's a revelation. I didn't listen to Summerteeth (CD) that often, it just didn't sound great even though it's packed with super songs. I'm no audiophile but a lot of the compression comments make a sense. Can't Stand It was way too loud as someone pointed out. I can hear lots of extra bits n bobs on this, I'm falling for it once again. Can't wait for AM and Being There, according to Amazon BT should be shipped tomorrow.

I must have been standing right beside you because I was completely surrounded by those Spaniards as well. I don't mind a little chat but some of that crowd talked right through a lot of songs. Gutted I couldn't see the second night but the first night was the best of theirs I've seen since 2002. Good to hear the better songs from WTA.

I think it's a mixed bag overall. I tend to skip over quite a few tracks. As someone else pointed out, Deeper Down-One Wing-Bull Black Nova is a fantastic sequence. I really like I'll Fight a lot too. This album has the worst lyrics of any Wilco album. Wilco The Song should have been an extra/b-side. You and I is extremely bland, You Never Know has some truly cringeworthy lyrics, aside from the George Harrison-Steve Naive rip off. Country Disappered is emminently forgettable. Everlasting Everything is probably the worst song they're ever commited to record. I'd even pick Walken over it. I

Fantastic show last night, they seemed to really enjoy it too. Loved I'll Fight. Super set-list, would love to be going tonight. Cool that John sang It's Just That Simple. Nels Cline using as egg-whisk on the guitar, Sonic Youth would have been proud.

The bar/toilet combo to the left is really handy. It's a great venue. Seen heaps of gigs there, including The Go-Betweens as someone previously mentioned. I miss those guys a lot. Tweedy solo there a few years ago was fantastic. Can't really push it for the second night but it's good to see it has also sold out. I looked for Shaking Sugar/Alone as a request on the website but unfortunately it's not listed.

Not sure whether they allow you to move. There'll be plenty of people going out to the bar or outside for a smoke so maybe you could go into the standing area once you've got a stamp on your hand. I was in the restriced view seats for a Flaming Lips gig a few years ago and we moved. They weren't the worst seats though. I just checked the Vicar St website and there's Balcony Standing seats available, I'd go for those ones. It's a great venue and very intimate for its capacity, about 1500 when standing.

Try this site, some tickets for both nights available I think... http://www.toutless.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=4871

Well just get a restricted view ticket and move when the band come on. I'll be standing at the show the night before and at 5'10" I'm sure I'll have a restricted view as well. It may annoy those posting in the 'rudeness-at-wilco-shows' thread though......

That show isn't sold out. You can arrange to pick up the ticket at the Box Office outside Vicar Street.

If you don't live in the US there is never an incentive to purchase through the Wilco store. Same with Spoon. I think they're both run by the same crowd charging exorbitant shipping prices. Every time I've tried to order anything the shipping charges are nearly always more than the actual items, even for t-shirts.

OP here, I realise most of you have had this for a few months but as I said I just received it about two weeks ago so I’m still digesting it. The reason I feel I may make a mix CD of W(TA)-SBS is because I only listen to about half of SBS and I see myself doing the same with W(TA). With regard to the tracklist, it could change daily. I like Leave Me (Like You Found Me), that’s why I included it in the mix. Country Disappeared may grow on me and be included in the mix. I don’t like Walken, On And On, What Light, that’s why I didn’t put them in the mix. It’s just that simple. I shudder to

I just received Wilco (The Album) on vinyl a few weeks ago and am pretty unimpressed with it. There’s about 5 good songs, the rest are either awful (You Never Know, Everlasting Everything) or just plain boring (Country Disappeared, You & I). I thought pretty much the same about Sky Blue Sky, there are some stinkers on that one too. If they’d waited a few years, they could have combined the two to make a much better album, here would be my version of The Wilco Sky Blue Sky Album: 1. Either Way 2. You Are My Face 3. Impossible Germany 4. Leave me Like You Found Me 5. Side With The See

Dick Darlington, were you on the Silver Jews forum a few years ago, something about the Joos gig in Dundalk? Name rings a bell....
-
Have only heard Wilco (The Song) from the Colbert Show. Can't wait to get my hands on the vinyl. A much needed lesson in patience...
-
I'd really appreciate a PM of this if anyone has the time, this isn't available in Europe yet... Thanks.

Awful cover. Awful title. Can't wait....

Saw it for the first time last night and enjoyed it though I did get that sinking feeling in my stomach watching Cline's solo in Side With The Seeds....this isn't meant to start any arguments but he bores me to tears. Same with Impossible Germany. This is the first time Wilco will have the same line-up for two consecutive albums, I'm apprehensive Wilco (The Album) will be on a par with their worst (SBS)....hope I'm proven wrong. If the band were to absorb another change I'd love if they sacked Cline.

This. Silver Jews RIP.

Great, thanks a million.
