  1. reminds me of this article in the new yorker where sasha frere-jones bitches about arcade fire's "lack of soul" for 4 pages. it's one of the biggest pieces of crap i've ever read.
  2. a friend of mine has that going on in st. louis...radiohead followed by 3 nights of wilco. wow!
  3. me too! i think it's my favorite opener.
  4. i thought the same thing about ACL last year and they did not play a show outside the festival well, they did the ACL taping but only like 200 people get to go to that and it's an enormous hassle to try to attend.
  5. i don't think he sleeps. a lot of those songs probably aren't "new" either. he probably has an enormous catalog of unreleased tunes since he's pretty much constantly writing. also, i don't think the recording process takes long for him. he usually records a song once and that's that. he doesn't edit himself much.

  7. i loooove that song. i agree, it would make a great wedding song.
  8. i was thinking that just andrew and his violin on a few songs would be quite exciting!
  9. it's pretty much always on the official shows page too.
  10. tanglewood is outdoor, correct? it's pretty tricky to do an acoustic set outdoor. it just doesn't sound as good a lot of the time. i think this is just going to be any other show. it will be awesome, because it's wilco, but i don't see why it would be any different than the other shows this summer.
  11. watched that sci-fi channel mini series tin man last night. i liked it but i love pretty much anything with zooey deschanel.
  12. oh duh, i forgot the biggest one...people ALWAYS talk about bush here! understandably but it's still gettin' old.
  13. yeah, in texas everyone talks about the heat, bbq, and grackles. a lot of people say stuff like, "this is the best crowd we've played to in a long time!" even though you're always pretty sure that they say that at every show. i would probably comment on the altitude in colorado too! i went to see a show in aspen a couple of years ago and i thought i was going to die! although, the band i was seeing didn't even mention it
  14. well, it didn't ruin any of my clothes but i washed my cell phone once. doh!
  15. lite-rock=ick. my orthodontist used to always play that crap in his office so now when i heard stuff like michael bolton, i flash back to those awful appointments.
  16. just paid $3.50 last night in austin, i think that's the highest i've seen it down here. it was brutal for me but i know it's worse other places!
  17. http://captainstefanie.muxtape.com/ my springtime mix http://stefcovers.muxtape.com/ artists i like covering songs i like
  18. i LOVE eerie indiana! my sister bought me the box set for christmas a couple of years ago. it's just as good as i remembered!!
  19. i love gomez. well their latest album is not great, but the stuff before it is.
  20. i don't think she was in love with either of them. she's spoken pretty candidly about how she suffered from a huge inability to love for a long time. also, james taylor spent some time in a psychiatric hospital when he was pretty young (teenage years or 20s, i think). i believe he was treated for depression. it's the same hospital that susanna kaysen (author of girl, interrupted) went to.
