  1. When is that ice cream coming? LouieB
  2. As someone who has written many a painful long post, that last one from jnickerson is painful to the max. It is really time to give it up!! Please note he has a pic of himself yet provided scant personal information. Time to change up the tune man!!! LouieB
  3. I don't even want to know this.... LouieB
  4. Nothing wrong with that.... LouieB
  5. Well yea and frankly there is no way to prove it either way I suppose unless you interview those people who download and burn a CD. I do believe some people do then buy what they have heard and that is good, but I am sure that others don't. It may even out in the big picture, but if your only alternative is to buy something, then you have to buy it. LouieB
  6. Good post.....there can be no doubt that some of Wilco sales have been hurt by giving away of albums prior to release. I am waiting.... LouieB
  7. I am too. I don't remember any commercial except one for Illinois tourism that had a Wilco song in it and that is only right, considering Wilco has brought millions in rock tourism into IL. This is great web fodder, but ultimately all bands have to make a living.... LouieB
  8. Songs in TV shows or movies is great exposure for a musician and not the same thing as selling a song for an ad; sorry I don't buy that. The argument here (for however goofy it is), doesn't extend to move/TV music, which is always fair game. Any and all musicians want their work used in conjunction with other types of art. LouieB
  9. I have always wanted a duets type album, Jeff and some other folks with him. LouieB
  10. Whoa man....Happy Birthday!!! LouieB
  11. I had no idea, but I have been listening to the expanded edition of Live at Sine lately and actually watched the DVD. Damn time passes quickly. (After watching the DVD I kept having the feeling that the swim in the Mississippi was sort of inevitable.) LouieB
  12. Henry Ford was a well known anti-Semite, but strangely my parents bought Fords, although they would not buy VWs since my father was a WWII vet. cryptique's point is well taken that if you try and run down all the bad things done in the name of a corporation, you will end up, as Lenny Bruce said, like a schmuck with a dixie cup and a thread (in this case it was the phone company). All this purity is fine so far as it goes, but after a point it is a useless exercise. I guess I am slightly weirded out by all this, but no more so when Lou Reed let Walk on the Wildside be used for Hondas or w
  13. The final Riveria show was very fun and hopefully they will continue in a different configuration under another name. Lou
  14. Actually I own Toyotas and I had hoped Wilco would advertize for them instead. I dig a Pony!! LouieB
  15. Having a discussion on this is certainly within the bounds of this board, but first of all I am curious why this would be someone's first post on this board??? Maybe the poster can explain that before we express our righteous indignation about this? LouieB
  16. Yea, me too..let's blame everything on Moby.... I have not heard this yet and frankly it is a bit weird, but what the heck. Music is a business, not just art. I am sure they got a pretty good amount of money for this, so maybe they don't have to tour quite as hard next winter. LouieB
  17. Now you have totally lost me..... You win...!!!!!The only part of this statement that rings a bell is I know Creed is some sort of rock group I don't listen to..... Somehow I knew this was a discussion I shouldn't have gotten involved in.... LouieB

    starbucks

Would there be any reason NOT to sell it at Walmart? I mean really..... Many communites don't have any record stores, much less independent record stores. Do we want Wilco to only sell albums through their website and CD Baby or what? LouieB
  19. Looks like TG and I will try and make the scene. LouieB
