I was just thinking of posting this! It's very cool. He's so freakin' awesome.

I've been jobless forever now and I've finally got an interview tomorrow for a job I'm excited about and actually want. It's at a preschool. Any vibes you want to throw my way to help me get hired would be much appreciated! And it benefits you like this: I make some dough----> I can afford to go to more Wilco shows----> I'll buy you a beer at the shows! I'll also accept any interview tips you want to throw my way...any "what not to do" or "what to do" advice? Thanks!

I hadn't actually heard Bono & The Corrs version before, so I had to go check it out. I think only Ryan's version really works for me...nice relaxed vibe and purdy vocals.

Or "When the Stars Go Blue" because some country dude covered it. Hey, Wasn't there some discussion of covereablity being some sign of songwriting ability somewhere in this thread?!

That's an incredibly fun song. "To Be Young (Is to Be Sad, Is to Be High)"

I just watched that! "You think God belongs only to you? He doesn't. God is an immortal spirit who belongs to everybody, to the whole world. You think you're special? God is not an Israelite. " ---Jesus, Last Temptation of Christ (which was just on TV last night)

With that other thread pushing close to 14 pages, I thought I might as well post in here and say, Yeah, I'd totally hit that.

I've been walking around singing, "I'm writin' the hits, Jooohhhnn!" in my head for two days now. Adams knows how to whip out some catchiness.

Yeah, I think that link is more eyeball friendly. I think massive blocks of italicized text makes most people dizzy. It does me, at least. Anywayyyyyy....good luck, Orson Welles.

Is there a link to it already posted elsewhere on the internet, maybe? You could just do a hyperlink thing.

That's the first thing I thought of!

Neato! I actually enjoyed them the most that night. They've got a good sound.

I saw Marilyn Manson with Helmet and Rasputina in Little Rock back in '97 when I was fourteen. My friends and I got right down front and engaged in some pit action. We thought it was totally awesome that we could claw and scratch at sweaty, shirtless dudes bouncing all around us without reprisal. At one point, Manson encouraged the crowd to spit on him, which basically meant that everyone behind me who was spitting at the stage was spitting all over me. I got a loogie in my hair. Being so young, we had two adult escorts, my friend's mom and her male friend. They were a bit hippyish and th

I'd be pretty tempted to check out Sunn O))) if they were playing near me but I'd die if that "brown note" business actually went down. Other than that, I could probably come up with a hundred bands that would be fun to see but whose fans I would fear encountering in a bar show environment. Antiseen is the first thing that came to mind or a really rowdy Hank III crowd.

I hate having to replace a tv or similar home electronics because everything is ugly! Last time we had to shop for a tv was torture because I couldn't find any black ones, everything was silver. I don't like the big flashy electronics. I just want them to do their jobs then recede quietly into the background of the room when they're not in use.

Spring Break for me means that my three-year old is home all week. This means that I can't listen to music/watch movies with grown-up words in them, read quietly on the sofa, or enjoy silence for more than 15 seconds at a time until Monday. Monday cannot come fast enough. It would be okay if the weather were nice and I could take the kid on a mini-hike or something but it's all floody out and everything is muddy.

He's on the soundtrack to a new movie, "Yellow Handkerchief" too. Not sure when that'll be out. It showed at Sundance.

Welcome to the fold! I can't believe more people aren't into him. He's really a top notch writer and he just gets better all the time.

I sold a signed poster but only because I didn't get it signed in person (contest winnings) and already have in-person signed stuff. I hated to let it go, but I was strapped for Christmas cash.

Just saw this online. How sad. He was no Spring chicken but it's still very sad to hear when great people pass. What a gloomy day! The weather is flash flooding crap and the death reports keep rolling in.

"Cold Mountain" was a pretty good flick.
