this season in the NFL is way too unpredictable. gamblers are losing tons of money, fantasy footballers are jumping off bridges, it is a funny league. yes that Cowboys-Giants game was surprising. I don't get the Cowboys. Giants favored by 13 pts and get pummeled. but the loss for the Giants further complicates and makes the NFC playoff picture more interesting.

Bbop stole my opener, The Jayhawks, yes in the 90s, the two bands use to play softball games versus one another. Would have loved to seen those games.

i wish M. Ward would drop that "deer-in-headlights" looking lady and make his own record. ha! yeah I liked her in Almost Famous and All The Real Girls. -
very excited!!!! can't wait to hear the III/IV record. opera rock album as they say

just got back from Las Vegas and placed a lot of bets on NHL. lost all of them. very close at times but close doesnt cut it. Thanks to the Blackhawks for not beating NY Rangers and thanks to the Rangers and Hurricanes for beating me several times.

oh yes, Packers win!! nice nice nice. monkey off the back!

yes indeed KramkonG, i was at the Dolphin game last week and the Packers could have won it if they executed but they didn't. Sure they are depleted with injuries but those who are still playing in the game, need to execute. Looking forward to Favre vs Packers tonight. Go GB!

i respect the kid's opinion and i respect your choice to blast it. Once Wilco got publicity over the record/label dispute when YHF, I knew I wasnt going to be paying 20 dollars anymore to see Wilco or Jeff live. Obviously as the band evolves and becomes more successful ie gaining fans, musical praise,etc...bigger venues, more shows, bigger crew, more buses, more money for tickets. even for solo shows, it just isnt jeff driving his own van with a few acoustics in the back, ha. 45 dollars for a show is expected. Id love to see Dylan-Young but tickets starting at 65-80, that is tough.

even at 1-4, it is weird to say the Cowboys still have a chance to make playoffs. the NFC is down this year, big time.

I'm very excited for this season. lots of parity in hockey so hard to say and predict. ive read the usual hype about Washington and Pittsburgh and Detroit, there seems to be a lot of hype with Boston Bruins too. Ideally, I love to see Boston vs Vancouver in the Cup. side note--I'm loving Fantasy Hockey more these days.

I second Miles Davis Kind of Blue plus anything by Thelonions Monk, Coleman Hawkins, Sonny Rollins.....slow, soulful jazz. on a different note: Portishead - Dummy, Portishead Radiohead - song - Exit Music(For a Film) cranked real loud and if you are drinking late and buzzing - The Black Keys - Rubber Factory, nice and loud!

awesome, Milwaukee, WI representing!! thanks so much!

i dont understand, Cincinnati and Tampa Bay are in playoff contention, playing great baseball, and their fans just don't show up to the ballpark and support their team. sad, sad, sad......... -

madden 92 was my first game. going back to play it now is funny, the players were so slow, basic game. it has come very far from that point. love playing the game with my friends but we dont get all obsessive about it, just a good time for kicks. -
Great story about John Madden Football game how is Madden 11? been wanting to get PS3 just for that game.....

yes, lovely beating of the Cubs tonight, nice game Brewers. I was surprised to still see John Cusack still at the game in the 7th inning when the brewers were up by 12 runs. you could see him when the camera zoomed in on a right handed batter. he was wearing a black shirt with GUAM on it.
-
i wish the brewers never traded Nelson Cruz.

i feel bad for Lou Pinella. He is a great manager. too bad for him that it didnt work, too bad for him he was hired to manage a bunch of nancies.

from his facebook: Tomorrow starts the first day of two weeks of recording a new solo album. The songs are based around my acoustic with some stark drums/bass/piano in there. anI'm keeping these recordings simple......THEN in two weeks I am off to NYC to record part two of the crazy NYC sessions I started last month by accident. What sta...rted as a weekend studio hang with Johnny and Tom Schick turned into some kind of Smiths/Simple Minds/Love Is Hell throw-back and just way too much fun to not finish. So two coasts, two sessions happening. The new daze are here... fingers crossed these thi

Jay's new record makes me sad for a few reasons. one, because he is gone and two, i miss his collaboration with Jeff. This record really shows jay's great writing as well as his other solo efforts. Wilco to me, and will always be, special from the era with jeff and jay-being there-summerteeth-mermaid ave-yankee hotel foxtrot. jay brought great writing, layering of sound, production to the band back then. with all due respect to everyone in the band now, i love 'em, but on a personal level, jeff + jay= great wilco
