Pardon me for thinking that someone who casually tosses that word around may be prone to letting emotion get the better of them. Perhaps prone to overlooking evidence and chalking the lad's removal up to some sort of "police-state strongarming" because he was peppering the speaker (we'll say: Rice) with some righteous talking points of "blood for oil" and what not. As for conceit, your use of "us" and "we" is not without a healthy dose.

I love this. You lost me at "republican dominated police state", though... bro. Gotta also love how so many enlightened folks here find themselves on the fence because the lad was not behaving himself at a John Kerry event. If he was forcibly removed in a similar manner at a Cheney (insert your own evil villian: Rice, Cheney, Gonzales, Ashcroft... Coulter) forum, he'd have gone down screaming into martyr status.

These seem to conflict with each other a bit. This message board is so skewed that my center-right opinion is beaten with John Birch branch. Hell, someone even went to the trouble of rating my "boardship" one star on my profile. Rating posters? What the hell is that all about? Is it a warning? I guess I kind of joked about being a troll here... but it was more in the spirit of the whole Jeff vs. Jay nonsense. In any event, have a great weekend yourself.

You had me until the "Faux News" jab. That really is kind of played out. I worked in the television news business for many years and know the political bias quite well. I now have the opportunity to work with a handful of folks at "Faux News" on a weekly basis, and can tell you first hand that many at the network (producers at least) are fairly liberal.

Those words moved me... "dude". People who were concerned with laying blame only in the most politically expedient places (in the case of the Katrina response... letting the local officials off the hook entirely) were beyond contempt. But it was not surprising. Someday the sun will go supernova, and swallow the Earth. This, too will be George Bush's fault. Dude.

My one and only trip to New Orleans was in '95 to visit a buddy of mine... a buddy of mine whose front door vista was an eye-level view of cargo ships chugging to and fro. The not-so-old adage of: "If you live at the base of a volcano, keep a good pair of running shoes near the door" came to mind at the time. There really is no excuse for state & federal mishandling of rescue & relief efforts... especially for people who can not help themselves. However, there is also no excuse for a "Hey, bail my ass out of trouble" attitude from people who do not heed storm warnings, and intend

Hey... I have feelings, too.

The "official" Wilco fan club meets to discuss new ways to taunt wayward message board members who don't fall in line: It is decided that: "It's Bush's fault, dummy" will remain the go-to insult for maximum self-satisfaction. Adjourned.

Remember when the AP hired journalists? What a shitty country. I hate America.

Alberto just put the "gone" back in Gonzales.

Surrender to Yanni. Do it now, before he is tapped as our new AG. You won't have a choice then. -

Hooray! My life is going to get better from here on out because of this... I can feel it! Actually, I heard Wilco fan nemesis Ted Nugent is to be named as the replacement. Hold on to your soy lattes, ya'll! -
Emile Hirsch not getting the Tweedy role would be an outrage:

Regarding the war on terror as a canard, dismissing our robust economy as "built upon lies & blood" because you hate George Bush... these are forgiveable. Pretending that 'Lil Bush is a funny or clever program simply because Jeff Tweedy is involved: for shame.

This is a good 'un... Prickly Thorn & Conquest the only skip-overs IMHO. You don't know is a full-watter. -
Right at back ya, Big Papi!

Anyone catch Gretchen Wilson shaking her Daisy Dukes for the Thompson campaign on YouTube?

I don't own a mobile phone. I've never considered myself hip enough to hang with the Wilco crowd.

Was anyone seriously questioning whether Obama already had the "...oh my gawd, I'm totally gonna pull the lever for the dreamiest candidate" vote locked up?

That right there is funnier than any cartoon show on the subject could ever hope to be.

I'm pretty sure I heard "What light" in a GE soft white bulb commercial.
