so it looks like CD version has a larger book 63 pages VS 32 (most likely due to the fact that there is a track by track notes) and the vinyl is missing all the live tracks. I wonder if the "digital copy" will come with a digital version of the CD booklet

"This vinyl box-set of rare studio and live recordings pull from a collection of Wilco’s extensive audio archives from the past 20 years. Included is a 32 page collection of extensive liner notes, track-by-track recollections from Jeff Tweedy, essays from other band members and a plethora of archival and never-before-seen photos chronicling all phases of the band’s career. An audiophile, 180-gram vinyl pressing, limited edition of 7,000 made worldwide. Each one is individually numbered, commemorated by foil stamp. The pressing comes from the legendary Pallas in Diepholz, Germany, which has be

ususally the vinyl has MORE and Larger linear notes and artwork...but who is to say until it actually comes out.
-
the Vinyl comes with a digital download..which you could techinically just burn to your own CDS if you want. I personally don't listen to CDs..so I have no need for a CD at all. Having the Extra Large Artwork, linear notes, of the Viynl is a huge reason for that purchase, depsite it having fewer actual tracks. the price is the obvious factor...but if you are on this website, I would imagine you are more then willing to spend $70+ bucks on a limited edition wilco recording. Despite having most of the tracks, I don't have ANY of these tracks on Vinyl...which is what finally sold me.

AM is the most consistent of all Wilco albums

it's good, but far fom my favorite. I'd argue ALL of their albums are consistent, yet different. Which is why I love them so much. -
thanks for the heads up on CC Music....
-
Yes, from what I understand the vinyl comes with a digital download of ALL the tracks from the box set..including the live cuts.
-
I wonder if we will ever get a seperate release with these b-sides. I don't really want to buy this movie soundtrack for 2 songs...

Just watched this on the Roku YouTube app. Wow. Sounded and looked amazing on my TV -
I gotcha, I'm not asking. I'm just saying I'd rather have one. It may be commericially available to some..but not to those without a turntable. I'm sure these songs will eventually pop up on a release some where down the road.

you the man!...hope the link stays up until I get hiome EDIt...LOL...the link is just how to convert a Youtube video...personally I'd rather have a direct vinyl rip..but beggers can't be choosers I guess.
-
THANKS!...now I just need to find a download so I can throw it on the album. This seems like a better Bonus Track for Disc 1. As I mentioned before The Beck Song Reader track fits real nicely as a bonus track on Disc 2.
-
That's awesome! Is anyone planning on ripping that B-side? I wonder if the B-sides will be released on another release down the road...
-
has anyone heard that B-side that was on the limited run of the Summer Noon 7 inch?
-
new moon and fake fur coat are my tied for my favorite track on disc 2
-
I really like that this feels like two separate albums. it's a true double album. Something a lot of artists have tried to make but failed (arcade fire, Reflektor, cough).
-
Also...I added that beck song reader song to my album as a bonus track. It works very well on disc 2
-
I knew it was only a matter of time, but I officially love this
-
if you read this..it seems that disc 2 is almost considered a separate album. The first disc is a lot different then the second if you think of it that way. The second disc is much more stripped down. http://www.theguardian.com/music/2014/sep/18/jeff-tweedy-wilco-why-the-album-still-matters

looks like it's finally been leaked to the internet (no I don't have a link, so don't PM me)
-
Yeah...that was 10+ years ago...and YHF is definitely a 10/10 record IMO.
-
to be fair..that Spoon album deserved a 9.+ in my mind...but like I said, the number is such a shallow way to judge a record. The written review for this album was very positive, and even the criticisms (length/tedium) are given a bit of a pass due to the story behind the record.

in general, I don't see this album getting a ton of overwhelmingingly positive reviews. Not to say I don't like the album (it's growing on me quite a bit)..it just doesn't feel new or different enough to warrant a huge critical reception. I think this album will be more of a fan favorite. I guess we shall see.
