  1. I'm not going , but if I was....these acts are the ones I'd consider "not to miss" Mac Demarco - don't let his recordings fool you, his shows are typically high energy affairs. Mac is crazy and umpredictable Parquet Courts - best post-punk band to come around in sometime. It's like all of the best late 70s early 80s punk wrapped into one package Real Estate - lo-fi surf pop at it's finest. Should be a real chill set. William Tyler - incredible insturmental guitar player Ryley Walker - a up and comer from chicago that sounds a little like Nick Drake with an improv jazz arrangements. Tig Nota
  2. Take a closer look at that link. It states that the film was part of the 2015 movies. The 2016 date above is next years event, obviiosly they would not have a list of films almost a whole year in advance. This premiered in Feb 2015. The no distrbutor thing makes the most sense. That's why these film festivals exist in the first place. It's not about awards, it about findiing distubution for a lot of indie films. You would think that Wilco would show some interest and distrbute this DVD themselves under their own label, but they may not have the ability too.
  3. The only song they should shelf is heavy metal drummer, they looked bored playing it

  5. Yeah royal thunder was not quite right for an opener, but the lead singer is a total bad ass, so I still enjoyed watching them
  6. Great set. Showed up at the venue at 6:45 and was able to walk right up to the stage. Band was in great form. Hoodoo was an absolute blast . Shot in the arm was extremely energetic. The acoustic set featuring two Tupelo songs was awesome. Would have like to hear a little more GIB material, but was happy they played a lot of Yankee songs. This was my 9th wilco concert since 2003, and the band has never seemed better
  7. Slightly shorter set, but still pretty long for a festival set. St Aug tomorrow!
  8. yeah, that interview seemed old. Anyway...I emailed and confirmed (yes I am a geek), that The St. Augustine set will start at 8pm and end at 10:30pm due to curfew...so plan accordingly people.
  9. that seemed like more of a Tweedy interview then a Wilco one.
  10. Hmm..seems that St Augustine has a 10:30pm curfew...which technivally means Wilco will start at 8pm...as they seem to be doing 2.5 hour sets.
  11. wow 7:30 start time. That's early! Wonder when they will start in St Aug.
  12. I recommend visiting Flagler college while in st aug. beautiful building with a ton of history. The fort is cool of course. Lots of tourist traps in st aug. whatever you do, don't go to the fountain of youth
  13. well that stinks...did they have any vinyl for sale? Sorry about all the questions. lol.
  14. did they have this shirt.... http://wilco.kungfustore.com/threads/caballeros/carnival-tee-wil734.html
  15. Well you park in the parking garage at universal studios, and it's usally not much of a wait in the early evening, as most people are leaving, not entering the park. You do have to walk like a quarter of a mile through a bunch of tourists and overpriced restaurants to get to the actual venue from the garage. Once there, the Hard Rock is kind of in it's own seperate place, so the tourist crowds die down. Since the doors open at 7, you probably won't have to wait much in line. I've always had assigned seats, so I can't really comment on how well the GA fills up. it's a pretty decent size theater
  16. are all the shirts available the same ones that are available on the wilco store? the XX shirts? Or are there Southern Tour specific shirts? Also, did they have that "carnival shirt" that's on the wilco store?
  17. I've seen shows at Hard Rock. It has a great sound system. you won't be disappointed.
  18. There are pluses and minuses to "Indie/Underground/or whatever you call it" concerts in South Florida. The Con, is that a lot of artists don't ever tour here. I remember Dinosaur Jr. played Miami a couple years ago and they admitted it was the first time they had ever played south florida...this is a band that has been touring since the 80s.... the Pro? When bands do play here, it's never difficult to get tickets, most of the venues are small, and in most cases it's very easy to be right up front. I recently got 2nd row center tickets to see Neutral Milk Hotel in Miami. How easy do you thi
  19. Ah...this is what I was hoping for, our own little "winterlude" show. I'll be at St Aug show, can't wait. Ps - I actually requested Panthers on the wilco world website. Go figure. just curious...how long was the set. I see on Facebook that they started at 9pm...what time did they end?
  20. sadly, the idiots will never let it go. I predict seeing smart ass comments on every Facebook post for at least a year.
  21. so I told you not to get your hopes up. As I expected a Georgia band by the name of Royal Thunder is playing the Southern dates. Their webise states that they are a mix of hard rock and modern metal. not all that interested. Looks like I can show up to the venue a little bit later then originally anticipated.
  22. Wow...facebook is an absolute shit show at the moment. Not only on Wilco's post , but on pretty much every related news post. Good on them, but I hope they realize what they just got themselves involved in.
  23. early pick for album of the year. Whatever "buzz" he lost in his absence, just came roaring back. This album is on track to be his more critically acclaimed record yet. Love him. Wish he would tour in Florida!!!
  24. i find it unlikely that they won't have an opener, as they have one for the entire tour. I guess anything is possible though
