  1. I don't really get upset with people drinking or smoking. Even the drunks don't bother me. They are just having their idea of a good time. As long as they stay "happy" I'm just fine with it.
  2. Just curious...why was your Hotel expereince bad? Where did you stay? If I have one negative about Solid Sound is the absolutely unreasonable hotel prices this year, and the actual quality of the accomodations.
  3. I say this time and time again (and on this board) as Florida Wilco fans, we are kind of spoiled with Wilco concerts. Every Wilco show I've been to in Florida, I've been able to walk up to the front of the stage with no real issues, no "camping" needed. Just recently in St Augustine, I was basically on the rail, and only showed up about 20 mins before they went on. No one was "crowding" in on me either. However, when you go to Solid Sound, you have to realize you are NOT at a small show in Florida. You are at a music festival. I'm not sure how many music fests you go to, but they are all typ
  4. AH...thanks for the link. For some reason I didn't find it when I looked at their website. So it was an Pale Ale...that makes sense. Citra Hops are always good. Man, would have loved to try that.
  5. WTF is a rather strange beer for a outdoof fest due to it's strength, and sweetness. That's cool it was an IPA, did they have the ABV marked? Curious if it was a session IPA (4-5%) or a standard (6-7%)
  6. so can anyone tell me what kind of beer Summer Teeth was? Also, as far as "blanket-gate"...Last SS we didnt put a blanket down until almost 3:30pm, and we always had someone at camp. However there were LOTS of people that just let there stuff sit there, and came back 20 mins before showtime...which is ok...however, when the music starts, don't expect people not to step "in your area". Your blanket is not an invisible forcefield. If you decide to be a dick, and not pick up your chairs and blankets when the show starts you deserve to have your stuff trampled. just my thoughts on the matter.
  7. I never understood people that just have endless conversations during concerts. I mean, I can't even attempt to talk during a concert without getting distracted by the loud music that I am paying to listen too. Last show I went to, this couple was going on an on about what movies were playing in the movies, I could only guess they talk constantly in the theater about what bands are touring. Sucks the food lines were bad, I remember they were bad in 2013 as well...we would eat "off site" in the A/C. So they officially sold more tickets then 2013? I thought 2013 was already busting at the se
  8. I remember hearing walken live as well
  9. That's kinda lame if true. I love hearing a new song live for the first time. Sure you can't sing along. But it's usually very exciting to hear something new (especially if you've heard the other songs 1,000 times) Solid sound seems like a no brainer for this type of experimentation, as most of the folks at the fest are die hard fans. They also don't release new albums on a annual or even semi annual basis.
  10. The fact that they didn't play any new songs this weekend has me believing that a new record is farther out then this year. If you can't test new songs on the solid sound crowd who can you test them on?
  11. So the reason why company in my back cuts out is due to everyone's favorite four letter word that starts with S. The actual recording is fine, it's just censored for public radio
  12. awesome. well hope the weather holds out. have fun guys! PS - how was Real Estate?
  13. im sure this will eventually hit roadcase
  14. did it rain? How's the weather been , I heard serious storms this weekend? Looks like a great set. Kinda surprised there wasn't a second encore...although that encore is pretty long.
  15. there did seem to be a lot of shots of children, with no real explanation why they were there. i don't recall it's ever mentioned that parents are encouraged to bring their kids. Personally, I think there were too many young kids at the event last year. As a parent I would never want to be chasing around my 5 year old at a music festival.
  16. Also the story behind Mark Mulcahy, and it being his first live perfromance since his wife died several years ago., must have been completely lost on the film makers. Did I mention that Pat used to come to his Miracle Legion shows when he was younger? He not only played a great acoustic set of Miracle Legion songs (songs he hasn't performed in over a decade), he also played a song with Autumn Defense. He probably had the most "interesting story" of all the acts..and they completely ignored him. I'm happy the nutjob stamping dollar bills got some airtime though....
  17. I know what it was trying to accomplish, but it just felt unnecessary and over dramatic. It also cut away from the Yo La Tengo performance. I understand this was more of a documentary than a concert film, but I do wish we had more video of the performances. Would have made a great DVD extra...if we ever get a DVD.
  18. Watched it this weekend. Enjoyed seeing myself in the crowd multiple times during the White Denim segment...lol. Overall, I think the documentary did a pretty good job of summing up the experience. Enjoyed the different Wilco covers. Especially the last one. Was this recorded at rehearsal? I did have a few criticisms though... My biggest gripes would be the complete lack of Mark Mulcahey, which was a HUGE highlight for me (if you couldn't guess). We got a 3 second clip of him playing in the museum with Pat, but no audio from the performace. They also somehow missed his regular set that inc
  19. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xyco3iusOiE Was hoping for some professional footage of the Mark Mulchahy / Pat Sansone pop up performance seen here. I know the camera's were there. I was front row. Can anyone confirm if he gets any time at all in the movie? So far I haven't seen any mention of him.
  20. any reviews yet? Also can someone confirm if there is a Mark Mulcahey perfromance in the movie?
  21. it says "if seller allows", so I suppose we shall see. really hoping they captured Mark Mulcahey's performance. He's not mentioned in the press release.
  22. I don't have an apple TV...I have a roku. Not sure if there is a Vimeo roku channel. It seems to me that you can't actually "download" the physical file. It's just going to be available on their website. That's pretty lame in my opinion, because we have no guarantee that Vimeo will be around in 10 years, so paying $12.99 for something you can't actually own physically, seems way over priced. I'd be perfectly happy with a downloadable MP4 file that I can stick on USB drive. it appears that there is a Vimeo app on the Roku...
