  1. Yeah, I'm sure we could find something that far away, but I have no interest in being that far away. being able to head back to the hotel to clean up, and being able to stay until the event closed, is kind of a must for me. If I'm going to spend the air fare , I'm going to do it right. It's not just the hotel prices that are keeping me fr going, it's more of a personal responsibility not to spend the money right now. I just have this awful feeling that The Replacements will be listed as a headlining act, and at that point I don't think I will be able to resist.
  2. Really want to go this year, but I'm afraid finances are just not in the cards. All the hotels in the area are either booked or have doubled prices since 2012, which just sucks. If anyone is looking forward to a day excursion I would recommend Mt Greylock. Perfect place on Sunday morning when the festival starts to wind down
  3. I'm really looking forward to the winterlude shows, I just hope the band is as energized after that many shows. I also hope the sound quality of the recording is up to the same level.
  4. I have two complaints about the port Chester shows. 1. No Sunday Morning 2. Don't really care about the Dead, and the audience only version of Ripple feels like a poor finale compared to the rest of the Set. So much amazing on this set of shows though. I couldn't even count how many times I got goose bumps
  5. Ha..yeah it came as a complete surprise. And let me just say that although i may be biased, this is probably one of the best anthology collections I've ever heard. The songs just come alive on vinyl by the way. Personally I like the shorter track listing. Makes it much easier to digest in one sitting. Brilliant compilation and wonderful package and track notes. This is easily one of the best releases of the year.
  6. So a good friend of mine surprised me and bought this for me...so my wife ended up cancelling the CC music order. My order DID ship from Amazon..so they did have stock on the release date. Anyway, didn't have time to open it up yet, but I'm very excited!
  7. I've heard most of the Post Summerteeth stuff, but a lot of the early recordings and demos were new to me. I also never downloaded all the live tracks. So most of those are new to me as well.
  8. To be fair, I think in the Kicking Television review, they mentioned that the AGIB tracks had grown into their own. AGIB was a grower for me, especially following the more accessible, and most popular YHF. It wasn't until I saw them tour that I started to appreciate these tracks. Now the AGIB tracks are my favorite live tracks they play. (I still can't believe they didn't play one AGIB song at Solid Sound....)
  9. I think it's possible that indie record stores and obviously the kung fu stuff went out first. Any additional was mailed out to online distrubtors. At least that's my hope. If amazon doesn't have it in stock yet, that;s a pretty good sign that it just hasn't hit those merchants yet.
  10. I wonder if ALL of the CC orders haven't shipped. Currently it says will ship in 5-10 days. I guess I'll wait a week or two, and then cancel. Like I said earlier it's a Xmas present anyway.
  11. Damn. I'm pretty sure my wife ordered from collectors choice for Christmas. No word on if they will get it? Makes me nervous
  12. This is a great set of tunes.
  13. its the definition of a grower album. the strong songwriting helps pull together what is mostly a minimalistic record. It's an album you fall in love with for the lyrics more then the music.
  14. i've gotten word that this is now "on the internet", but not by legal means sadly.
  15. I hear you..I've already made a "beginners guide to Wilco" Mix for a number of my friends. I've converted about 6 people total. LOL.
  16. I think it's humerous that anyone on this board would purchase the What's Your 20 album, for anything other then completion purposes.
  17. so ive got about 20-30 live wilco bootlegs/recordings...and this Port Chester one is up among the best. The Wilco The Album songs have never sounded better, and the pacing of the setlist on all three nights is superb. Brilliant Live collection right here... If I were Wilco, I sell all three nights as a set for a discounted price. These songs belong to each other.
  18. The CD Has ALL of the live tracks..with a total of 77 tracks across 4 CDS... The Vinyl has 47 tracks..over 4 LPS..and comes with a digital download of all tracks. The booklet for the CD is 63 pages, where the vinyl is 32 pages.. What we don't know is if the CD and Vinyl books are identical in content..other then the vinyl linear notes being "larger" based on the format. The description says the box set features "track by track" notes...so my idea was that the Vinyl version may only have notes on the tracks that are on the vinyl release.....but that may not be the case... I'm sure it wi
  19. I would imagine the digital tracks won't be added until the release date..or at least a little closer. You got it a week early! So does the booklet inside the vinyl mention anything about the live tracks that appear only on the CD?
  20. I'm not an audio engineer but these recordnigs are some of the best I've heard from the Roadcase series. I also like how a few songs have morphed a bit for the 20th anniversery. Lots of little detials and touches. I Fight..a song I don't really care for, is much more interesting. Jeff sings it a bit more laid back, and stretches out some of the lyrics to make it feel much warmer and natural then the studio version. They seem to be in a really good place musically and I really look forward to what they will put out next.
  21. decided to download all three nights based on your impressions...im on night one and it does indeed sound good. I think it helps that everyone seems to be on top of their game. I wonder if they will release all 7 Chicago shows...and will all the set lists be different? Do they have enough songs for 7 nights? sorry meant 6 not 7 shows
  22. My vinyl copy won't be here until xmas
  23. box sets shipped today...so people should have them in no time (today?)
  24. so it looks like CD version has a larger book 63 pages VS 32 (most likely due to the fact that there is a track by track notes) and the vinyl is missing all the live tracks. I wonder if the "digital copy" will come with a digital version of the CD booklet
  25. "This vinyl box-set of rare studio and live recordings pull from a collection of Wilco’s extensive audio archives from the past 20 years. Included is a 32 page collection of extensive liner notes, track-by-track recollections from Jeff Tweedy, essays from other band members and a plethora of archival and never-before-seen photos chronicling all phases of the band’s career. An audiophile, 180-gram vinyl pressing, limited edition of 7,000 made worldwide. Each one is individually numbered, commemorated by foil stamp. The pressing comes from the legendary Pallas in Diepholz, Germany, which has be
