  1. Well considering the line up says Medeski Martin and Wood with special guests...I was assuming that Wilco would join in
  2. Well I bought My tickets still deciding on Sunday...argh..just many not be an option. Kind of asking a lot of my inlaws already... Well I bought My tickets still deciding on Sunday...argh..just many not be an option. Kind of asking a lot of my inlaws already...
  3. Well id love to stay until Monday...but that not only costs more...but would also force us to take additional day off work. So I'm ok with leaving. Plus all the acts I really want to see are on Friday and Saturday...although I've always wanted to see Os Mutantes By the way...sitter is confirmed...so I'm pretty sure ill be going. Pretty exciting
  4. just booked the last room in Halflinger house for 150 a night. thank you for posting!
  5. well after some exhaustive reasearch I think I found an affordable flight in and out of Albany...now I just need to find a sitter for the kids!!! That's the hard part!!
  6. its really more about budget..but I guess if Im saving some money in gas, then it won't be too bad...
  7. what time do you all think the event will start on Friday? I can get into Boston at 12..but It looks like I then have a 3 hour drive...but it's $200 cheaper then flying into Albany...which doesnt get me in until 1pm..only about an hour drive... decisions decisions.
  8. i just called the Haflinger, and left a message.
  9. hey guys...really trying to make this work this year. never been before...had some questions. Trying to figure out the best plane/rent a car scenerio... How far of a drive is it from NYC? I booked a room at WIlliams Inn but its 200 a night....any other places you would recommend that are cheaper/not too far of a drive/and are still available? Is the WIlliams Inn nice? Seems kinda steep, but it was the first place I called, so I booked a room. We plan on flying in Friday motning...and leaving sometime on Sunday..as most of the acts don't interest me on Sunday.
  10. um sorry what? What's inferior or "hipster" about any of those groups? Get over yourself. I'm a long time Wilco fan, and Im just trying to give suggestions on what other stuff I'm listening to, that I also really enjoy. Andrew Bird and M.Ward Hipster? Uh. yeah, you clearly don't know what the definition of that word is. and that was a MUCH better suggestion then Band of Horses and Coldplay..that's for sure.
  11. This happens to anything you obsess over. Here are my suggestions Listen to the Wilco Pandora channel for some new music. Listen to the new albums from Andrew Bird, Tame Impala, Grizzly Bear, m.ward, Poor Moon, and the re release of Paul McCartney RAM. You're welcome
  12. I am about halfway through the Red Rocks show, it's really good so far. I am so glad they are doing this. Tempted to get the ballpark show, but I think I may wait to see what others come available before doing so.
  13. I would love to go to this show, as this is one of my favorite breweries. The Beers are strong, so if you like to drink keep to their lighter White Ales, like the WHIT or the BPA. Some of their other beers like RARE VOS, Three Philospders, are around 8-10% in Alcohol content, so you are drinking about 3 beers to every 1 Budwesier.
  14. Wilco the album was the first real misstep from Wilco. It's an album I have almost tried to forget. Sky Blue Sky still works well as an album, even if it isn't the most exciting record in their catalog. Wilco (The Album) sounded like a band unsure of what direction to go next, it also felt extremely rushed and underthought. If you go back to interviews with the band about making Whole Love, they stress that they spent a lot more time on making the record then the last, almost admitting that maybe they didn't try that hard on the last album. And I completely agree, Wilco (TA) felt like a col
  15. which is the better show, I am leaning toward Red Rocks, as it's such a cool concert venue. At least compared to a Ballpark. I hope they release the show at Ommegang Brewery
  16. I don't believe they sold out the first Fillmore show either. I was actually surprised that Radiohead sold out the AA arena when they came here. I actually think it was because Miami was the first stop on the tour, and lots of South Americans flew to Miami for the show. Anyway, it was definitely LESS crowded this time, but that could have had something to do with the awful weather we had.
  17. thanks to everyone who voted. We walked away with the top spot!! Now Wilco decides who wins the grand prize! I will keep you posted,
  18. The band was great as usual, however I almost got into a fight with a beligerent person. I have been to about 100 shows, punk, metal, you name it, and I have never felt as threatend as I did last night. Basically runined the last half of the show for me which really sucks. Security finally took care of him by the second encore, but by that time the damage was done..sigh to make matters worse my best friend's wife decided to leave him the day of the concert..so he was an emotional wreck. Had to be one of the strangest most emotionally charging concerts I have ever been too. I am still in shoc
  19. ok, we are nummber 4 right now! Voting closes at 2! please help out if you can!!! Thanks
  20. Hello everyone! My wife and I have entered the Wilco / Veer Don Quixote contest and would appreciate your vote!! http://iframe.wizehi...t/4963/616459/0 The Tshirt has elements from Veer (as required), a photo she took of a windmill, and images and text from Wilco the Book. Please vote for a fellow Via Chicago user!! Thanks, Mike and Aimee Hope too see you in Miami.
  21. Sky Blue Bky has some great songs. I mean Impossible Germany is a new staple. I seriously could do without any Wilco The album songs. Including One Wing and BBN. I've already seen both live and I still wasn't that impressed. I think One Wing still sounds cut short, and BBN a tad irritating and repetitive. My luck they will play a W(TA) heavy set when I see them in Miami. Just give me lots of Whole Love (including One Sunday Morning!) and YHF (celebrate that it's 10 years old) and a few tracks from the other records and I am golden. Don't really need to hear anything off of A.M. either,..
  22. that is a pretty mixed set, with lots of older songs. Interesting. Hoping for more of a Whole Love/YHF mix, with a few tracks from GIB, ST, and BT. No Wilco the album needed.
  23. Just Miami, but I envy you fans that have the time and money ro see them multiple times! Hoping for Via Chicago this time, they didn't play it last time they were in Miami.
  24. another White Denim shout out! awesome. Wish they were opening. only a few more days. Also..that Miami interview was terrible.
