  1. it really reads like a 7.9 review, the editor must have gotten wind of it and knocked it down a point.
  2. the pitchfork review is another slap in the face to one of indie rocks best bands. I realize the idea of Pitchfork is to talk about hot up and coming acts, but when they give total mass market garbage like Watch The Throne high marks, and call the Whole Love "their most inconsistent record" you know something is very wrong. They seem to pick favorites over there, and it really comes across in their review scores. In the end it won't matter what Pitchfork or anyone else says about this record, the fans are the ones to decide if it's a classic or not. Judging by the response on this board, I t
  3. Could have done without Nick Lowe, I mean he opened for them, did he really need to take up set time? Would have liked a California Stars with him singing along instead

  5. ehh...nick lowe was a bit weak I think. oh well what is that awesome percussion going on during the chorus of HMD?
  6. what a cool guitar sound at the end of War on War, it's nuts. im telling you this band gets better everytime I see/hear them live, even their old songs seem to get a sonic upgrade
  7. Dawned on me is the best "pop" song on the record, well maybe Whole Love is, but seriously this song is incredibly catchy
  8. if its not cool to sing at the show, it must be really uncool to sing at home in your living room right?
  9. I missed Born Alone as I was putting my daughter to bed. One Sunday Morning put her to sleep..ha ha.
  10. im drinking a Belgian pale ale form Ommengang. oh and this band rules the world.
  11. does anyone know if this is being recorded? I need this in my collection. sound quality is AAA.
  12. I hope someone is recording this, because it sounds incredible...great audio NPR!! also Delerium Tremems rocks!
  13. It was definitely a snoozer of an appearance. Google when they played The National Anthem on SNL 10 years ago. It's amazing how much things have changed. I like TKOL, and thought the basement sessions were stellar, but that live performance was not very exciting at all. Also why do they insist on playing songs that are not even available commercially? It's kind of strange. Possible a new album will follow soon, kinda like Kid A and Amnesiac?
  14. I would say it's definitely better then SBS and W(TA), but it's not as dramatic as either YHF or GiB. I think Summerteeth is it's most close comparison. The bottomline is that this is a great group of songs that are really well produced. Another great LP to add to the catalog.
  15. i think they are fine as they are. When they played South Florida they didnt even come close to selling out the Fillmore.
  16. ok. so it's the regular album. so how is "Sometimes it Happens"? I havent read one description of it on here. You guys are slacking!!
  17. Its really good. I don't think it is as career defining as Yankee, GiB, or even Being There, but it is definitely an amazing collection of songs. No doubt this is the best American band on Earth right now.
