It's funny how a "Neil Young for beginners" thread has morphed into a discussion about one of his most obscure works - the Dead Man soundtrack. Neil is king for me, but I never listen to that one.

Perhaps Ryan should consult Neil Young on this matter.

Perhaps he'll be on the next version of Celebrity Fit Club. Might sell some more copies of Sirens of the Ditch in the process.

Sounds like it was the case when I read I'll Sleep When I'm Dead. I got the sense Warren had a bit of starfucker in him which tended to cloud his judgement - which was shaky at best in the 1st place.

He also played with Warren Zevon a lot. Puzzling.

Why'd I open that link?

I'm not sure they've covered enough musicians in revealing their influences.

I don't listen to any of their new stuff, but It Take a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back and Fear of a Black Planet are pretty special, particularly the former. Flav has always played the role of the jester. Nothing new there.
