I understand your point, I was mostly just giving a shout out to Daniel Romano. He's actually one of a the very few that are writing and releasing traditional, George Jones style country music. Still a very underground market.

I beg to differ... http://viachicago.org/topic/48650-daniel-romano/?hl=%2Bdaniel+%2Bromano

Vampire Weekend is the poor mans Paul Simon.

RIP George. Hugely influential artist. Irreplaceable.. My late grandfather was a huge fan and we had "He Stopped Loving Her Today" playing at his wake..

This whole thread is pretty absurd really, but its fun anyway I guess. I haven't enjoyed anything the Avetts have put out post Emotionalism. Oasis is the poor mans (completely impoverished) The Beatles.

It is my life's goal to record a psychedelic masterpiece before I die.

I know I know.. It's sort of a cult favorite.. But its just bad... Although I think it was meant to be bad...

Also "Dreamer In My Dreams", as terrible as that song is. Always sort of reminds me of Honky Tonk Woman.

And how much credibility can we give to someone that spells sucked as suked?

Yeah, highly recommend seeing him live. His show is definitely more scaled back than the albums since he does a lot of post-production sound effects in the studio. At least on his last tour, he played with three guitarists (including himself), no bass player. So lots of raw, noisy, guitar goodness. Hoping to catch him in Asheville at the Grey Eagle in July. Small, intimate place, should be awesome.

And probably all of the coke and ass they could ever want.

There's no such thing as not having the means of obtaining a higher education, (see student loans, grants, etc). Unless you mean not having the brains of obtaining a higher education, then I suppose you have a point.

His new record is every bit of awesome as I expected it would be. Favorites are "Wakin On A Pretty Day", "Was All Talk", "Girl Called Alex" (LOVE this one). "Goldtune".. Not a single clunker on the whole album.. My wife put it best. To paraphrase, "Kurt Vile's music is what all rock music would sound like if the shitty 80's new wave bands never came along and ruined it".

It's always kind of weird seeing Wilco open for anyone, even if it is the stones.. I guess its because I have seen them as headliners for so many years.. Like seeing the Wallflowers open for Clapton. Those guys used to headline arena's in the 90's, and most people in the joint could have cared less about them.

If you bite off more than you can chew, you can struggle no matter how much money you make.

If you have an oven, you have a bread machine. We do it the old fashioned way, and it always turns out fantastic. Or maybe my wife is just a baller when it comes to bread making.

Huh? This perhaps: I don't see how that calls me dumb. I'm not making a data-backed statement, I'm making a personal experience statement based on relatives of mine. One that works at a free health clinic and see's dozens of patients every day, and another that grossly abuses the system. I stated that the abuse runs rampant, although the percentage of non-abusers is still much higher.

I'm all about government help to those who need it. That is what it is there for. However, I am not all about the abuse of government help, which runs rampant in this country.

Even though I haven't lived in Boston for 10 years, it still feels like a home to me. Used to walk to school almost every day where the bombings happened. My thoughts are with the Bostonians, although I know you'll get past this. You don't mess with Boston.

I have one of those on the way, pretty stoked. And for the defense of Mr. No-Jay, I also place the pizza directly on the rack. Gives it a nice crunchy bottom, so fuck you guys.

Eric Clapton's Crossroads Guitar Festival

Man oh man, I wonder how much that guitar is worth now... Mmmmmm... Triple humbuckers..... -
I wish Dawes' story would end... Kidding! Someone had to say it... But really, not a big fan. They just seem kind of bland to me. But I'm willing to give their new one a try. They definitely have great vocal harmonies, which I always dig.

Eric Clapton's Crossroads Guitar Festival

Clapton should break out the Les Paul on the Cream songs. Even though his tone was great on the strat on "Crossroads" at the concert last week. Very loud, lots of feedback. -
I agree completely... I can't stop listening to it. It's hard to top his last record, but he just might have..
