  1. I see. Well enjoy the show. I'm looking forward to your post show report.
  2. How the hell did I not know this was happening. Damnit! I've seen the Breeders. Would rather wait for a Deerhunter headlining show (they aren't even listed on the bill on the Variety Playhouse site.... )
  3. If I ever see him again, I'll ask. He would probably say something like brownies are for hippies, or whatnot.
  4. Good. A wise man once said to me that pipes are for crackheads, papers are the only way to go.
  5. Maybe its me, maybe I’m a little fucked up maybe.
  6. Yeah I've been listening to it on Spotify since its release. I think overall its a very strong album. It's in the same ballpark as their last record, but definitely edgier/nosier. There's one or two songs that are borderline Cheesy such as Pensacola but it may grow on me. Absolutely love The Missing, Back to the Middle, and the title track.
  7. I wouldn't start panicking until at least 2 weeks before the festival. We're talking a month and a half here, people.
  8. Jeez.., rockstars have reached a new low...What next, having a stand-in to do lines off of a groupie's ass?
  9. Yeah but I seriously doubt he is reading the teleprompter word for word. It's supposed to be there as a safety net for a forgotten lyric here and there... I doubt he would need to use it for every word in a song.
  10. Thats what I've heard too. There's nothing wrong with a little showboating. It's part of his art, his persona.. At least he isn't posing for a gap commercial or something..
  11. Ah! Nice one.. Touche.
  12. Dammit I really want to watch this performance again, but I can't find it anywhere. Fuck NBC.
  13. I'd be more than happy to oblige over PM. They don't call me lamrod for nothin..
  14. Are you being sarcastic? If not this is getting a little ridiculous. All singers forget lyrics sometimes. Jeff Tweedy does it all the time. Lip-syncing, stealth musicians off stage, are one thing, but there's nothing wrong with having words to reference every once in a while during a lyrical brain fart..
  15. Does a one legged Pope swim in circles? No really, why you ask?
  16. I haven't heard the whole record yet to make an accurate judgement call, but from what I have heard, it's definitely in the same ballpark as their last record, but much grittier. Maybe they have found their comfort spot.. for now at least.
  17. There's a sampler currently on Spotify with a couple tunes, including the song Monomania. Certainly grittier than anything off of their last record. The last minute of the song is nothing but incredibly loud noise and feedback.. Thought it was going to blow my speakers.. lol
  18. Yeah, I also sorta consider them my hometown band (even though I don't live in Atlanta), I'm only about an hour and half drive from there, and go there regularly I also don't dig all of their stuff but Halcyon Digest is brilliant, one of the best albums of the last decade or so. I also really like what I have heard so far from the new record.
  19. Bradford Cox is certainly an intriguing character. Interesting interview: http://pitchfork.com/features/articles/9122-deerhunter/ Awesome..
  20. There is no logic in having drum pads played along with acoustic drums. They must be used for other sound effects etc. If they wanted the drums to really pound, they could just put pads or triggers directly on Mick's drums. Unless he just can't play anymore and must have someone playing along with him to fill in the missed beats, but I doubt that is the case. I have heard of drummers playing along with metronomes (very common actually), and guitar techs pressing pedals for the guitarists, but I'm finding it hard to believe that Mick Fleetwood actually has a guy that covertly plays the d
  21. Ozma is the poor mans Weezer. Even though they are a good band that wrote some great tunes, they are the only band I know of that blatantly copied another bands sound, and wasn't afraid to admit it either.
