  1. I didn't say I didn't believe in climate change, I said I don't believe that humans are the major cause of it. Like I said in an earlier post, it never hurts to be "green" and care about the earth (my family recycles and all of that jazz) but it's my theory that climate change is part of a natural cycle, and humans have little to do with it.
  2. I know I was just fuckin with ya. He's full of shit because he made everything to appear to be HARD FACTS in his movie.. And were all doomed etc... When in reality, he really has no clue.. Nobody really does.. There are theories but nothing has been 100% proven that global warming is man made. I'd rather err on the side of caution as well, but I was just sayinzall.
  3. Oh I agree with you. This is just my personal belief on the reasons for climate change, but that should definitely not stop us from working to make the earth a cleaner place. Even if we have absolutely nothing to do with it, I think everyone is still obligated to leave the world in better shape than the way we found it.
  4. Gore is definitely full of shit. "Man has caused Global Warming. We are ruining our planet!!!! Buy my movie or we are all gonna die!!!!!!!!!" But if there is global warming, I believe it's part of a natural cycle. The earth's temperature has been fluctuating for billions of years. Our little existence on this earth is just a wink in that time frame. Yeah, humans may contribute a tiny percentage to the problem, but I'm sure it's not enough to really make an impact.
  5. White Stripes were always one of those bands for me that I could listen to their album, get some mild amusement, and then put it down and never really listen to again... But as far as live shows, I'll never forget when I saw them at a festival in 2005. I wasn't expecting much from a two piece but it was a wall of sound. They were by far the loudest band of the festival with just one guitar and drums...
  6. I've never been a proponent of global warming, but we got our first white Christmas in upstate South Carolina since the early 60's. We also had a major snow/ice storm a few weeks ago that basically closed down the city for a week... I've never seen one that bad in the 20 years that I've lived here. So it has seemed like an especially aggressive winter this year..
  7. Kind of like every Dr. Dog album has a song with the word "Dog".
  8. Agreed... The title scared me there for a minute.
  9. Well they had a good run. I've never been a big White Stripes fan but seeing them live a few years ago was one of the best shows I've ever been to.
  10. We need a Michael Bolton produced Wilco record. There aren't enough Michael Bolton produced records in the world. For my money, I don't know if it gets any better than when he sings "When a Man Loves a Woman". Imagine him incorporating his genius into Wilco's music... Gives me chills just thinking about it.
  11. I was five years old, living in Jacksonville Florida. I could actually see the plume of smoke from my backyard. Remember it vividly, even when I was only five.
  12. Yeah, just goes to show The Clash was not just the genius of Joe... Without Mick and Topper, they just didn't have it...
  13. They would qualify if it weren't for "Cut the Crap".
  14. Solid state is definitely lame. When I think of solid state , I think of small practice amps (where sound quality doesn't really matter anyway), or those solid state digital effects amps that have tube amp emulators etc...
  15. Wow, I guess mini amps have come a long way since I last used one. When I was in music school, most of the guitarists brought their mini amps to class of all shapes and sizes. With all of them playing at once, it was the most atrocious sound imaginable. That VOX and Epi look nice though.
  16. Your not really going to be thinking about tone with a mini guitar amp. Their whole purpose is to be a portable guitar amp that you can take anywhere, don't expect it to actually sound good. However Pignose's actually do sound pretty decent. I've never played out of the other one's you have listed, but Pignoses actually have a little low end to them and produce a nice warm sound at low volumes. Turn it up, and you'll get some distortion (which can be a good thing) but be careful not to blow it. I'm sure it's ok to run pedals through it but again keep it at low volumes. Those tiny little
  17. This. And definitely Pixies, including Bossanova. That's all I can really think of. Wilco would make the list if it wasn't for WTA...
  18. Yeah, Barry Manilow concerts are a hot commodity these days..... Wait, what are you talking about?
  19. Horrifying ... yes. Awesome ... yes. Get it right.
  20. Yeah, guess I can't really judge them until I play one... I just don't see how anything other than wood would resinate properly.. But again, just dont' know enough about them. I saw Rob Zombie in concert once. His guitarist's both had plastic guitars. They were actually hollowed out with fake blood inside them. Ever once in a while they would turn them upside down and the blood would pour all over them... It was horrifyingly awesome.
  21. I'm sorry but I can't see how that thing doesn't sound like plastic... shit. I guess with the right amp and a pedal or two, you can squeeze out some tolerable tones, but just..... yuck....
  22. Exactly!! Especially for Longstreet. Longstreet was strong, stern, and determined... Paul Giamatti (although one of my favorite actors) always plays an insecure, scatter-brains kind of character... I don't know what they were thinking with that one.
  23. You know I thought the same thing at first (and still have my suspicians) but supposedly it's for real... They are on facebook and update quite often, and I've seen it mentioned on a few other websites.. And this one.. Who knows.. It's in very early stages so it could be one of those projects that never actually happens... Sort of like Spielberg's Lincoln movie... He's been wanting to do that for years (he even had Liam Neeson casted as Lincoln, but he dropped out).
