You're welcome, I think. It sounds as tho you're perturbed but I'm assuming I'm just reading it wrong.

Not nearly as much as one may have wanted which I think may be part of the issue.

Well, I liked all three of those. I saw W. and if it were up to JUST ME I would've walked too. I found W. completely not worth it.

Not in the least.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MENDE!!!

Yes, she was in the opener w/ Lorne, Alec Baldwin and Mark Wahlberg. She ended w/ saying "I'm not going to answer any of your questions (directed at the audience/"press") but I will say this 'Live from New York...' " I only caught the 1st 10 mins or so as I was on my way out. I'm guessing I can find the rest online. I hope.

Welcome! Have fun!

I wonder if they're going to use Sarah Palin for anything besides the opening.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY WENDY!!!

Do NOT, I repeat, do NOT waste your money on this...at least not in the theater. I don't know what this was SUPPOSE to be...entertaining, biographical, or what but it was just awful. People were actually leaving the theater. I'm fine w/ the fact that it wasn't so much a bashing on Bush and/or his Presidency but it was just "wtf?!?" When it was over, we didn't even know it was over. You know what it was like?!? Trippin'...if I knew what tripping was like. It's like the visions keep being thrown at you but nothing makes sense, there's no cohesive quality at all. What a waste of energy, time

Current Obsession - Wilco or Wilco-affiliated

Looks like I need to pick these up. -
"You Were Wrong" - Loose Fur I recently discovered this on a copy of a solo show of Jeff's, with Glenn along, from November '05 at the Calvin Theater in Northampton, MA. It was my 1st and to-date only solo show. I don't know what it is exactly but I listen to just this track at least 2-3 times a day. I've never heard the studio version. I know part of it is just Jeff's voice but there's something else. I guess it sort of goes along w/ what both hazel and sweetheart wrote in the Pieholden thread...all those feelings wrapped up inside.

It's time for a New Election Thread

I was actually trying to convince a friend the other day that he had a VERY naive way of thinking because he was trying to tell me that things aren't as bad as they were in the 60's. That we've made so many strides etc. I'm glad HE thinks that way but it's just not reality. EDIT: I'm not saying it's as bad, btw, just it could be A LOT better. -
That was A-MA-ZING!!!

Hinder/Nickelback v. Gangsta Rap
Wilco Worshipper replied to Wilco Worshipper's topic in Someone Else's Song
Well, I ended up w/ a mix of the "generock" and rap but this week the rap was more calm and ol' skool. I'm pretty sure there was no profanity to be heard. And believe it or not, we fit in some political talk NOT the sort of thing this guy would normally discuss. -

It's time for a New Election Thread

I'm doing my patriotic duty...I pledged w/ Wilco to vote on Nov 4th. So I turned down the debate and turned up "I Shall Be Released" -

BEST QUESTION YET: "Why would your running mate be better than your opponent's as President?" -
I fear going into work tomorrow. I started helping out in the morning by cleaning the restaurant as our last guy just up and quit. Well, what comes w/ this besides dealing w/ the ornery chef is being with this one cook (who happens to be a friend) on Thursdays. We're the only ones there so he feels free to blast whatever he wants. I was DYING the 1st week when I had to listen to the SAME Hinder & Nickelback tracks OVER & OVER. I didn't think it could get any worse and then last week...the gangsta rap. I don't think I've ever heard the "n" word as many times in my ENTIRE LIFE as I di

It's time for a New Election Thread
Wilco Worshipper replied to mfwahl's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
I haven't read any of these election threads but I did want to let you all know that there was a line around the block this evening at one local voter registration facility. I can only imagine that's what going on all over. Today is the last day here in Massachusetts to sign up (not sure about other states). It makes me proud to know that people are taking this seriously and making their voice heard -
