I lived in DC for a year and while beautiful the summer months and traffic are terrible. I also saw a rat the size of a small dog on night on the mall.

It was a passive aggressive statement against the pro gun control crowd, I think.
-
It does for me. I simply cannot vote for person who does not hold the view that all people have the same rights regardless of who they love. It may be simplistic, but it is what I feel.
-
You know I have never understood those people who call themselves fiscally conservative/socially liberal (supporting of gay rights etc) and still vote GOP. Basically you are saying that your money is more important then someone else's rights.

I am an unabashed progressive and I agree with much of what you say, but I really wish there was just more thought put into it. The level of the thought and discussion that you put into your posts here do not jibe with the knowledge you purport. And I am just saying that, not to be mean or belittle, but your posts are just frustrating to read. But to get to the larger point here and I think it can be said with the utmost confidence that the following 5 things are true: 1. There was no cover-up in Benghazi, it was more of a turf war between the State Dept and the CIA. 2. The IRS d

They should get all of us to appear on the Sunday shows, that would be high quality TV.
-
The Sunday shows used to be, I pine for the days of Tim Russert. Now it is just partisan bickering, with no real moderation or tough questions. Sigh.

I just really dislike Peggy Noonan and wanted it to be made clear.
-
There are many many things beyond style that make Peggy Noonan a bad journalist. I really don't want to take the time listing them hear as it would be pointless. Though I would site the op-ed quoted by Cornbread Crow Magnus as a prime example of why she is a poor writer and a hack of a journalist. But would also like to offer this up as an another example, from her op-ed, Obama has a good day, Liberty has a bad one. The op-ed is a mess all over the place out of many of the head scratchers there is this particular one: First off what does that mean? And why does she feel the ne

John Freaking Hurt! The episode blew me away.

Absolutely. But since the GOP has not actually proven any lies, coverups and abuse of power, shouldn't we be more concerned with how the GOP is abusing their power? I will not ignore this this, but I will scoff and belittle. Peggy Noonan is pretty much a right wing hack. It is a fool's game to by into this Obama is like Nixon line of thinking. It just goes into trying to make PBO and these "scandals" a lot more than they really are. From the Washington Post Editorial dated 5/16/13

So now we are doing revisionist history? I am reminded of the saying, "if wishes were assholes.." I am not sure what your point it. So if we take your comment, "it's clear that lies, cover-ups and abuses of power took place.." (which is anything but clear, especially in the case of Benghazi, no matter what the right wing media wants you to believe), at face value. One has to wonder why the GOP so desperately wants to lay these scandals at the feet of the President. The GOP have such a laser focus in stoping this president they could be really missing out on maybe finding those respo

All blame is partisan and look what the other guy did mentality. It only serves as a justification or deflection of what is currently happening. Which it never should be. Though the current waive of scandals it really seems that the GOP is reaching for something to put a knife in Obama and hurt democrats in 2016. The GOP just seemed to be so focused on the scandals and not focused on doing their jobs in helping out the country. If they would put half the effort they do in trying to hurt and stop Obama in helping the country we would be better off. Not to say if there is a some ser

off of faulty (or fabricated) intelligence provided by the CIA. But hindsight is 20/20. And I hate playing the blame game it is pretty much useless.
-
out of the three scandals out there, this one is the most troubling. Mainly because it does seem so egregious and at a high level. Though I am going to reserve judgement until more facts come out.
-
Know what? What does that even mean? I struggle sometimes to figure out what you are on about. Is it worth of a congressional hearing, no. Is it worth some merit for people to look at and should people be held responsible, yes. It is foolish to think that this was some sort of high level Administration ploy to get the TEA party and other conservative leaning organizations. It is passive aggressive BS, by the GOP. They couldn't beat PBO in 2012 and now they are going to bring him down another way.
-
No
-
that is not what these hearings are about, it is to politicized. all about laying blame. just another example of our current dysfunction.
-
Pretty good (language aside). I really want to hear form those who support the congressional hearings on what they really hope to accomplish, and be honest with me and themselves.
-
How come no one told me there was a She and Him Vol 3 out there? Bad VC, bad VC. Anyway just got it so far good (first listen), seems to be more of the same.
-
Will some please tell what did the Administration cover up? Certainly not the fact that it was a terrorist attack since that is widely accepted. Maybe it is this craziness from Geraldo: My Sources tell me Benghazi was about running missiles to Syrian rebels.
-
No I am not watching the hearings, I don't think many people are. Are you? What did the Administration cover up? Plus I have really no idea what what you last sentence is trying to say.
-
So in the days after the attack it was blamed on a video and was called an act of terror. Eventually the video theory was debunked and it is roundly assumed that it was an act of terror. Everyone admits it no one is disputing that fact. So you now have your reasoning, act of terror. It is not like anyone is hiding or running from that. I have never lost anyone in any type of tragedy (and I count my blessings for that), but I still don't understand the reasoning why matters. Is it going to bring these four people back? What congress should be focused on is 1) was there anything that
-
So that is the need for several hearings? Regardless of why it occurred shouldn't we be more focused on making sure it never happens again? It is just a politically motivated blame game really nothing more. And by the way the President called it an act of terror the day after the attack. Do you really think if the administration really focused on the terror aspect that would have caused PBO to lose? Really what is the point?

So this is where we should bring up Bengazi. As you have probably seen Issa and his committee have brought up another hearing on Bengazi. While I the events in Bengazi are tragic and 4 people lost their lives I honestly question the motives of the GOP. It seems they are more interested in making PBO and Hillary Clinton look bad rather then actually solving and preventing future attacks. Was there a cover up? If so a cover up of what? I really fail to see the point of the whole hearings.
