I was thinking about this today, the two infrastructure bills are very different. the GOP plan was just a continuation of highway funding, not nearly the infrastructure that is needed. Also the GOP plan did have some cuts and items that go against the EPA. Knowing that the Senate is controlled by the Dems it seems like the GOP put this in to say hey look at me we have a infrastructure bill knowing it would be voted down. Honestly what is needed is compromise. It is the hardest thing for the two parties to do, but it should be what they should be doing.
