Depends, I could show numbers going both ways. Onside says job loss, the other says growth, one side says not enough growth, whatever. It has never been about the economy for me. He has been the way Gov Walker has handled himself in issuing his reforms. It has been about the cuts to education, BadgerCare, and whatnot. I have friends who have seen their paychecks cut by close to 1200 dollars a month, because of governor Walker. I have friends who will be dropped by BadgerCare because of Walker. I see my school district's funding decreased and programs cut because of Governor Walker.

So it begins. It is a good thing the Attorneys General (JB VanHollen a Republican) is sending out teams to several cities in Wisconsin to monitor "voter fraud." The majority of the cities they are going to happen to vote (wait for it) Democratic. http://www.postcrescent.com/article/20120603/APC010405/306030086/ Just saying.

Bringing this thread back from the dead of 2011. Tomorrow us folks in WI are going vote wether or not to recall Scott Walker as governor. Historic no doubt. Interesting for sure. Current polls have Scott Walker either tied with his opponent (Tom Barrett) or up by 7 percentage points. Who knows?

Yep, cause when I woke up this morning I waited 3 hours in a bread line.

IRDB I am sorry about what I said about Fox News. You where right that is someone using opinion and calling it news. Edward R Murrow is rolling in his grave.

and the award for blowing things out of proportion goes to Crow. So offer up some suggestions, which was asked of you. After Syria, should we go to Darfur? Then where? The world sucks but the US does not have resources to stop all of the bad things from happening.

You could say that about his whole career

Yeah I didn't understand the parallels between going into war with Iraq and what is happening in Syria when it was first presented. There are plenty of nations where the leader kills and oppresses its people (some of them are our biggest trading partners). The US cannot go into each country and solve its problems. Yes it sucks for the Syrian people, but what are we to do? Send it troops and kick the Syrian government out? Do then go into country X next? Where does it stop? The US cannot be the policemen of the world. There is an international organization (UN) that should be able to co

Jules you are one jaded mother f'er. BTW I think IRDB was referring to this: Bain and GS Tech and forgot to mention he government was on the hook for 44 million. But Gov't bailouts are bad. Yes this is legal and within the law, but come on honestly do see this as fair to the workers and taxpayers?

The Mollusk and 12 Golden Country Greats where my jams in college. I also used to do a lot of drugs back then. Though in the past 10 years or so their music has fallen flat.

As a Cubs fan I feel I should buy stock in a broom company. It would be the only thing they are good for this season.

Successful in that he made a lot of money, for himself. Not in actually making the business a success.

As long as Bain Capital and other venture capital firms, operate within the laws of our country there is nothing "legally" wrong with what they do. It is a business, it makes money, it is capitalism. Is what Bain Capital does good for the country? That is another debate entirely. My question is, does Mitt's time at Bain Capital qualify him to be President of the United States?
-
BleedOrange is right. This Fox News is evil discussion is a waste of time. Bain Capital is in the news again. It is interesting Mitt is running on his experience with Bain as why he would make a good president. He knows the economy and what not. Here is the thing about Bain. Bain's role is to make money for its investors. To go to a struggling company put money in reorganize (i.e. layoff and restructure) and then get maximum profits back for the investors. This is all well and good, there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. It is perfectly legal and Bain has done some great wor

I really hate to get picky, but I am trying get to a deeper point here. From your descriptions, other than the April 19th comments, all of these are opinions. Opinions that, in all likelihood are based on misinformation and lies, but opinions nonetheless. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, wrong or not. They are allowed to express their opinion on the News, on the street corner, whatever. I have said it before and I will say it again. There is a difference between bias and deliberate misinformation.
-
Just one example would be fine. Fox News is biased, MSNBC is biased, every media outlet out there is biased. But there is a distinction between bias and deception.

That is a great point, 1980 - 2000, we actually saw the parties try work together. I am not saying it was all Robert Byrd and Trent Lott singing kum by ya by the fire, but there was give and take. The current political climate, becuase of the 24 hour news cycle, the internet, and talk radio, has become so devicisive. I think even with the best president out there we would be stuck in this shit storm we are now. IMHO Obama had the makings of a great leader, but the GOP would rather see Obama fail, and give him no victory, then try to help the country. Obama did not have the stones to use

I was interested in the "normalicy," so being a lover of facts I did some reserach. As of 5/23/12 The High Heat Listed 180 players on the DL, for the same period last year there was 146 players on the DL. So about 25 more than last year. In 2010 for the same time period there was 119, again about 25 or so more. If you can take anything from three years of stats it looks like the number of players for the first half of the season is increasing by about 25. I did not go back any farther (cause I do have to work today). But to anwser the question the increase doesn't seem normal, but a t

So Stereogum came up with the top 25 albums of 2012 (so far). A couple of things occurred to me: 1. Other than Spiritulized I know none of these bands 2. So far no new music has really done anything for me in 2012. The only albums that I have had any marginal interest in is Andrew Bird's Break It Yourself and Jack White's Blunderbuss. So is there any new music that I should be checking out?

I don't know about the rest of the league, but the Cubs are on their Fourth Catcher (Koye Hill). I know that ain't normal.

See you just said the same thing you did before, but with more words. All I am asking for is a reference, a source or sources for your claims. IRDB you seem to be intelligent and impassioned person, but as a credible factual source you are not. It is a big claim that Fox News is misleading people (even more that it is on purpose), and one I am interested in. However before I jump on Fox News Lies I just want some facts.
-
Do you care to clarify?
-
Do either of you have any facts to back up either of your statements? Statement By IRDB: Fox News claims stories that do not fit their narrative are dismissed as made up, or changed (fudged). Statement by Jules: Stories that Fox does not cover are made up to aid the current administration. This thread has become a bicker-fest, and I bring the blame partly on myself. But you all throw out statements and treat them as fact, with nothing to back them up. Lately I just see this thread eve loving into a "I know you are but what I am I" type of thing.

I don't like to be a hater, but that song is so damn annoying. The lyrics are atrocious. And I agree with Solace way too emo. I have only heard that one song (like 99% of the population) it does not want me to check out any more of their music. Plus fun is a terrible name.
