  1. Actually TRS has a very high engineering ethic...that's why I asked the question. I recall Elephant had pretty nice sonics.
  2. Can you elaborate? I have IT on my ipod but haven't read this 18-page thread.
  3. Wish I got the channel.. If someone can TiVo these, I'd love to have them. Can trade for some interesting vinyl/cd's.
  4. What about some sincerely heavy metal bands/songs.
  5. Philip Seymour-Hoffman? Keifer Sazalund? Ya..zats heem.
  6. I'll go with that. The Hoff love was transfered to Michael Moore for a while, and now Tweedy has taken the mantle of lovable ragamuffin 'murican. -Sarchi (the other noam)
  7. Little Feat- Oh! Atlanta (maybe tonight??) Pete Twonshend/ Ronnie Lane - Annie Dylan - A Simple Twist Of Fate Richard/Linda Thompson - Strange Affair Bruce Cockburn - Maybe The Poet
  8. Anyone know what codec this file needs? Winamp can only seem to play the audio.
  9. True.. same for Thomas Dolby and Elvis Costello.
  10. The Band - Stage Fright Springsteen - Youngstown Simple Minds - New Gold Dream Jimmy Cliff - Many Rivers To Cross John Lennon - Watching The Wheels Some Peter Gabriel would be nice too, In Your Eyes, or Solisbury Hill. and how about something from Kate Bush.. Wuthering Heights, or mebbe Cloudbusting! Holy fuck, Wilco could shred Cloudbusting.
  11. Some of the raunchier classics would be fun... Good Morning School Girl, Suzie Q, maybe Long Tall Sally if there was enough inebriation involved. Agree on the Velvets, pretty much anything from Loaded. Oh yeah, and Old Time Religion.
  12. +1 that would be cool. (or Sugar Mountain) In fact Jeff's already got the lumbering (hoppping?) white guy Neil bop down pat. And that's the hardest part.
  13. meh...so like, what about some KISS covers?
  14. Probably true...but so what? GR is high on my list of must read books, I just read slow and don't get through many books these days. Btw (somewhat On Topic): Ramblin' Man, the biography of Woody Guthrie was a fantastic read...highly recommend it.
  15. Not too many guys could sneer out Pos 4th Street or LARS, but Tweedy could.
  16. In the current config I think they could probably do justice to some older rock classics....8 Miles High, Mustang Sally.. maybe a few CCR tunes. (Long As I can See The Light) Wilco's good enuff playing their own stuff, I think a more interesting topic would be who could / who should cover some Wilco tunes? Joe Cocker in his prime was the King of covers, IMHO - listen to Sheffield Steel if you doubt me. I'd listen to Joe take on Via Chicago or What Light any day. Steely Dan or Pink Floyd could do interesting takes on Wilco, too..
  17. Our love is all of God's money -> viaChicago.org ('scuze me, I'm still in the "honeymoon" phase here...lol Once I'm a bit more jaded I'll buy: Voices Whine ViaChicago.Org
  18. I can host them free of any BS if you like.... email to admin at triumph675.net
  19. hey guys, I run a fairly large motorcycle forum (4200 members) ... adsense + a few sponsor ads pay the bills, also the occasional member donation. I also have a Cafepress.com storefront -- you can check it out here: www.cafepress.com/Triumph675 Anyway, maybe it's already been considered/rejected here, but just thought it might be worth a mention...? I know I'd be down for buying a few "ViaChicago.Org" bumper stickers. The shop is free if you keep it simple, $7/mnth if you want multiple items per category. (I have the latter) All the orders are fully handled by Cafepress, and they h
  20. Well said..That describes how I feel about the Cinci show. I haven't been to many concerts where the overall energy-interaction with the crowd was that good. Being a furriner with not the highest opinion of cincinnati I was very pleasantly surprised.
  21. One thing I loved was the age diversity in the audience. Everyone from 13-year-olds (kudos) with their dad and mom in tow, to aging hipsters...yikes, I guess I'd fall into that camp! And everyone was really into it. In that sense it reminded me of seeing Arlo Guthrie and Pete Seeger in Montreal back in '85 - I was 20 and went to that show with my dad and my grandmother (and it was a blast).
  22. +1 It was 'loud enough'. Sometimes Jeff's mic was drowned out by guitars, but mostly when he wasn't right up to it... that's the way it goes. (I was row H on the left side of the stage)
  23. You can find cool fan-made stuff on cafepress.com .... their rules don't allow official logos or brand names to be used, but there's tons of it there anyway.
  24. If I were you I'd put 'em on Criagslist now (toronto) and when you get replies just explain that you expect the tix any day. You can overnight mail them....should be plenty of time 'til the 30th.
