  1. I think he might've meant, y'know......he wants Paul to kick the bucket??
  2. I saw VH on the first arena tour, early '79 I guess. Maple Leaf Gardens..my first concert, I wasn't 14 yet. Good show, and their first LP kicked ass, but I think that's probably where it should have ended. RARHO$, indeed.
  3. Yeah. I mean, he was very complimentary about the band, but it didn't seem like he did much homework. Refered to SBS as "a beautiful record". I just find him really annoying, and unlikeable. His "50 Best" series was annoying as hell.
  4. I can't believe Tweedy did that interview just before the Massey show....no wonder someone said he looked tired... Ghomeshi is just so fucking annoying! How many times did he ask "how do you feel about that"? Pretentious ass headshrink talker. Either Way is the intro. You Are My Face is the outro, at Jeff's request.
  5. It'll be online in a few days, in the show's archive. Or catch it live in like, 10 minutes. CBC is also on Sirius, ch.137 I believe.
  6. .....makes many VC'ers question each other's sanity.
  7. Too pricey for me. And they aren't likely to come down in price for a while either. Taking the iPhone apart
  8. ...that I can't stop playing. And posting about.
  9. Conjures up echoes of Pink Floyd, Nick Drake, Neil Young, and Little Feat - sometimes all in the same song.

    Speculation

I hope so. It's closer for a lot of us than Toronto, and the tix will be cheaper. Saw Dylan in Buffalo (Shea's), so why not Wilco? Great venue for them. (mind you Dylan has some family in Buf, maybe that plays into it)
  11. Opens with "maybe" and closes with "yeah".
  12. Yeah....weird. My laptop semi-recognizes it, when I connect the monitor I have to reboot to get 1280 rez. Probably an issue with the laptop, it has other odd problems...it won't hybernate for example.
  13. ...that Nirvana might have someday made if Kurt Cobain had lived another 8-10 years, stayed on the tortured genius curve, and acquired the vision to develop the group beyond a grunge trio.
  14. He nailed this part dead on. "...the paradox is that while Sky Blue Sky is the smoothest sounding Wilco album, it also takes the longest to absorb and understand. Songs that float by like pillowy stars ultimately reveal themselves to be just as dense and combustible as
  15. I do. And that was the most craptastic thing I've read all day.
  16. Yeah they sure were an odd bunch in the 80's, none weirder than Jeannie Beker. I cried for the Callwood interview too.
  17. Pretty surprised to see YAMF in the lead. Then again, when it gets "heavy" that is the first point of the CD where the band really grabs the listener by the throat. Some reviewer said they copped that guitar lick off Peter Green (Fleetwood Mac). I hear vintage David Gilmour, personally.
  18. Thanks, I'll definitely tune in. I don't like Ghomeshi that much.... do you know if George Strombolombolombous interviewed Tweedy for The Hour? He was really annoying at first....former MM veejay; but I have to admit his show is pretty decent, and he interviews well (has great guests too).
  19. Anyone who says 'Jeff Tweedy has never been much of a lyricist' is an idiot, full stop. "I am an American aquarium drinker" may not be his cuppa tea but it is memorable as the opening line of one of the greatest rock albums ever made. But maybe he never made it past that point in the record... Jerkwad.
  20. Jeff Tweedy has never been much of a lyricist???????????? Dude, you're a failure at your job.....just kill yourself now and spare any more collateral damage.
  21. Yeah they are a pet peeve of mine. Take this load of BS for example: -------- Wilco frontman takes a more direct lyrical approach on striking new album "Jeff Tweedy has never been much of a lyricist, but his cryptic words do provide occasional clues to his rich, puzzling music. On Sky Blue Sky, the best Wilco album since 1999’s Summerteeth, Tweedy provides such a clue in the song “Impossible Germany.” “But this is what love is for,” he warbles in his reedy tenor, “to be out of place, gorgeous and alone, face to face.” " (link) -------- I mean WTF. This guy can write wel
  22. Will do! The truth is I was a bit impaired last night. OOPS. Doesn't happen very often, at all.
