  1. Grrrr....I can't get any decent sound. Cutting in n out; I've been trying all night. I'm hanging up before I pull my hair out!! I hate missing out on what sounds like a great show!
  2. Cool! Maybe we will have time to track down a beer or two before the show!
  3. So the tickets say the show starts at 8pm. Is that Wilco at 8 or is that the opening act? If the opening act, what's an estimate for Wilco to go on? Maybe 8:30? I'll be cutting it close with travel time and need to know how stressed out I should be if I'm still on the road at 7:50 or so.
  4. The Kicking Television version of Poor Places when Jeff's sings "sailors sailing off in the morning". His voice kind of wavers at "morning". Also "Wake up fool, there's no time for a shouting match" from Mike Doughty
  5. My brother and I will be there. But by the time we get off work and hit the road, we'll be lucky to make it before Wilco's start time of 8 so no pre show gathering for us. Getting excited with only a week away!
  6. Okay, so I'm thinking of having a Wilco dvd viewing party for a handful of family and friends. The challenge is that most of them haven't listened to Wilco and are only vaguely aware of them from my regular announcement of Wilco events (concerts, new albums, this dvd, etc). I'm thinking of luring them in with the offer of sampling some home-brews that I'm working on. Beer seems to be the magic touch for having people stop by. (Maybe that says more about me than my friends...?) But anyway my plan at this point is to put the dvd in, keep the beer cold and hope people are interested enough t
  7. I waffled around too long, but finally decided to get tickets to the Bloomington show. Late night, low money and during the week, but I just couldn't let the guys get this close without seeing them. Looking forward to it now that tickets are purchased!! Not great seats, but oh well. Taking my brother. He's humored me, at best, with my Wilco fanatacism. Maybe seeing them in concert will convert him to a true believer.
  8. My wife and I met Jeff after the 2007 show in Indy. He was gracious enough to let someone take a picture of the three of us; twice actually, the first picture was messed up somehow. But I need a lot of work on my intelligent conversation abilities since I wasn't able to get out much more than "um, wow, uh....great, um, you guys are...um well, um awesome show...um, great, uh, geee...that was, um...uh, great..." I wish I could have eloquently told him how much I really appreciate the music, how much enjoyment Wilco has given me over the past few years and gotten out the sincere "thank you" t
  9. I thought the show was fantastic! I was thrilled to hear Remember the Mountain Bed and Hoodoo Voodoo; two songs I had talked up on the way to the show, hoping they would get played. I took my wife and two of our sons (ages 17 and 15). This was the boys first Wilco show; our (wife and I) third. I really wanted the boys to be excited about this and have a great time. They don't listen to much Wilco, but were familiar with a few songs (Handshake Drugs had become a family favorite, so was also glad to hear that one too). Our 15 year old ended up with an upset stomach as the show started so h
  10. Got my Indy tickets yesterday! Cool. Now I just gotta figure out which 3 of 5 family members get to join me.
  11. I had originally decided to not get Indy tickets due to the cost and extremely busy at work during late summer. Going to a concert on a Monday night wouldn
  12. Our local paper's Sunday crossword puzzle (3/30/08), clue 74 across says: "Guitarist Cline of the band Wilco" My wife actually saw this. Neither of us ever do crosswords either. Just caught her eye I guess. By the way, the puzzle is from the LA Times Syndicate.
  13. "Don't let anyone change your pants"
  14. Company in my Pants Thanks all. I'm ending my day much lighter than a few minutes ago!
  15. I think he said the interview was done in the basement of the 9:30 club earlier this evening
  16. I'd like to be thirtysomething...instead I'm 41.
  17. YES! I figured it out. Thanks Oceanman for pointing me in the right direction. And especially to Soundboy for taping and posting the show! Fif
  18. I guess I'm not getting it either...all of my files were saved as .shn also. How do I turn those into music; what do I do to make them play? Sorry, I'm a newbie with this stuff and can't figure out what I need to do. I really want the Indy show though, so any help is really, really appreciated.
  19. I wasn't able to get to this at all last night; sounds like I missed the chance. I guess this is a dumb question at this point, but now there's no way to get the Indy show? Well, thanks for trying. Still have great memories of the show. I'll pass along your "hi". Next time, I'll actually buy you that beer!
  20. Great! Thanks, Andy. I've been looking forward to it...
  21. Also: Mike in a t-shirt and shades, what the hell? haha. Yeah, I had to do a double-take to figure out who that was in the back.
  22. Soundboy, Was it you that let my wife and I share a table with at the Rathskeller before the show? If so, hope your hotel room was reasonably decent and you made it home with no problems. Wife surprised me with buying The Wilco Book as an early Father's Day present. Then we hung out after the show. Jeff Tweedy autographed the book AND we got our picture taken with him. It was the perfect ending to a wonderful day and a fabulous show! Can't wait to hear your recording of the show.
