Rust belt does not benefit from a McCain election. I thought Republicans didn't tax. I thought only the librals taxed, taxed, taxed. McCain's energy policy is friggin sucky. Oil expansion.

I use RCP too, but giving Nevada and Virginia to McCain. I dunno. I kind of look at the specific pollster also, not just the avg. Any Virgins or Nevadans have the pulse on your state?

I was thinking about this kid this morning. A pretty normal h.s. athletic, happy go lucky, yet a tad aggressive being shipped to the RNC. My bet is he is stealing drinks in and around the social rooms set up at the convention. He'll probably knock some local gal up. What a story line.

Yes, Obama prolly would feel safer being ahead by more electorally, but it still appears fairly safe even when you give the close states to McCain. However, the old broken record of a lot can happen between now and then is in the back of everyone's mind.

It still amazes me that most blue collar folk can't get past race and political party to see that Obama (from IL) has more focus on expansion of alternative energy that will recreate manufacturing and decrease fossil fuel dependence. McCain simply wants to give more funds to the fossil fuel industry for expansion. It looked more like he's had several near catches and has fallen flat.
