  1. To avoid making future, similar mistakes.
  2. All or nothing, black or white are philosophies that do not fit the political theater.
  3. Thanks, I was assuming there was some trickery involved in the initial statement. And boy, Gdub looks hankered in that picture. Can't wait for the Oliver Stone movie. At times I feel sorry for Gdub, then I think about how many people have died, how much face we have lost, how much debt we've accumulated, how our environmental policies have been sidestepped...then I go back to hatin again.
  4. You have a linky lew for reference? I would like to read it.
  5. Well, this will probably be their last album since no one likes them anymore. Jeff, Jay B, & Jay F will start a power folk trio that will last 2 weeks due to creative differences. At that point, Jeff will grow a beard, get fat, and concentrate on writing poetry. Glenn will get a gig with an experimental jazz group. John and Pat will continue defending Autumn. Mike will be a tech, like he was before. Nels will continue to hop around as a guest and w/ the Singers.
  6. You would fall in the "I did not vote" group
  7. That is hilarious. I bet Jeffrey gave you a stranger than normal look. I would have paid money to see that.
  8. They are some cool cats. Nels will always jib jab with you. Pat too. The others are kind of hit and miss sometimes. The two times I saw Jeff after the show he seemed like he was on another planet. It is surreal that first time you walk up to them. Freaky.
  9. I was thinking of how much feeling there is in an old school flag. The cotton (hemp) ones that have such bold color. The white isn't so white, the red and blue are deep. The heft and texture are there too. The current nylon dogshit from China is a disgrace.
  10. Daaamn. I think it will only get worse in future elections. The corporate political ties will prevent any legit contender. What are you looking for in a president?
  11. I'm down with a side of sarcasm, but what about the entree? Why didn't you vote?
  12. Not in that exact post, however, most people understand that you are a Retardican. Why not?
  13. I agree that it is the rule. Most of the population is stupid. You are more optimistic than I. It would be interesting to see how the population would react if treated with higher expectations from the governing body.
  14. There can be exceptions though. Grazing and timber harvests can add value if done correctly. Emphasis on 'if done correctly'. I can't think of what value mining, oil, or recreation add to public land.
  15. I'm down with that...on a personal level. However, there are a lot of people that cannot figure out this stuff on their own. Kind of luck these dumb bastards that, with the advent of mandated publishing of calorie counts, are figuring out their fried chicken and cheese salad with ranch has more calories than a sandwich and chips. They had to be told, they couldn't figure that shit out.
  16. Which is why you are not on the energy conservation thinktank. The idea of little, easy things compounded by millions of people can reduce energy use without huge inputs of resources. This is very similar to turning lights off in your house when not in use, changing to a programmable thermostat etc. Can you list a couple, cuz the only car I've heard of that does not require spark plugs is a diesel and they are dirty as a mutha, hence requiring a little emissions testing. And how long before 90% of the population drives one of these cars you are talking about?
  17. What kind of cars are these that you speak of? More specifically with no spark plugs, 10-20 g's oil change interval and no emission testing?
  18. Is this a wrench forum? Does this mean you never get new plugs, wires, air filter?
  19. QUOTE (bobbob1313 @ Aug 5 2008, 04:52 PM) Well, we're at a point in politics where nobody tries to change anything. The only point of elections is to keep the chain moving, don't make too many waves, etc. That's why two potentially good candidates in Obama and McCain have become, basically nothing more than the mouths of their parties, going back and forth on issues depending on what puts them closer to maintaining power. It's sad. What is McCain's potential? Yes, Obama is certainly a good choice from the pool of Democrats.
  20. One of the other dillholes brought it up. Just keepin it real for the artisans that grow, buy, roast, and drink good coffee. The elite. But actually, it's prolly po (informed) folk that drink the good shit since it isn't sold at Starbucks at an inflated rate.
