  1. While I don't want Jeff to return to his boozing, toking, pill popping days (disclaimer) his unpredictability during those shows is hilarious.
  2. no, that's not edgy, that is wasting album space
  3. edgy- via chicago- dreaming about killing your wife she's a jar- not beating your wife ashes of american flags- taking on the popular sentiment of your country's manifest destiny during a time of war war on war- speaks for itself and time of war shot in the arm- being so fed up that you are prepping a needle on and on and on- opening yourself to the public about a recent death and death in general, that takes guts and musically, using the experimental jazz notion of putting people on edge, much like Bitches Brew
  4. I think it relates to life in general...w/o proper amounts of stress, eustress specifically, the mind/body will not perform to its ability. Sometimes negative forms of stress enable mind/body to strive beyond perceived capacity- creativity is enhanced. equilibrium is pretty boring....hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm; kind of like the droning noise on AGIB song #8 or whatever that is.
  5. won't why not? pfffft; happy schmappy jangle poo doo
  6. I don't think you can blame Jeff's migraines entirely on Jay Bennett. That ain't fair to do someone. Jay (the scapegoat)
  7. Ken Coomer can play the country drums.
  8. Yes, Nels appreciates a steady paycheck. Yes, Nels like creativity and it might be time to fly. Glenn needs to hang out w/ people his own age; forget these old fogies. It's time for John and Jeff to move out to the sticks and write a country album. The Flying Burrito Bros. revisited.
  9. Maybe they leaked it to gather a critique from the fervent fans. So far they have gleaned: 1) it is the best Wilco album ever cuz it's, like, a mix of everything they've done so far 2) it is not produced very well 3) even though it is not produced well, it is still good 4) where is Nels? Glenn? 5) it's kind of short in length 6) they better ask Harrison if they can use his bit 7) they better footnote the one song with reference to "on and on an on" 8) I am not that fond of it, but I am just one person, so forget me.
  10. I ain't buying it. 4 good songs ain't enough fur me.
  11. Jeff needs to tone it down on You & I so I can hear the chick. Is this a Fleetwood Mac impersonation? BBN is getting more annoying each time.
  12. Yeah, the only song that has stood out so far for me as a first listen gem; can't understand the praise for BBN, kind of an annoying song.
  13. Looks like a fun one. Luuucky.
  14. Dark Side of the M00n....snore. Puts me to sleep.
  15. that sucks...talk about control. My two best beer experiences w/ Wilco shows have been: KC Crossroads- 8 kinds of good beer to the left, 8 kinds of good beer to the right, or go inside and choose from 30 taps. Tulsa Cains- 6 pack of cans for a decent price. Get a 6er, go watch the show. Awesome.
  16. what is a beer corral? do you have to finish your beer before leaving the corral? do they put you in a head chute and shoot beer up your arse?
  17. Cool, looking forward to Friday. No comments about Koby Teeth?
  18. Still remember it vividly. Leaving B ball practice, freshmen in college. Time stood still for a few moments. I still remember that and the first listen of Nevermind very clearly.
  19. Please pm or post a review. Next Friday for me. Getting pretty stoked about it. Saw Bruce in Tulsa Tuesday and KK is next.
  20. Is this hell lined with grease-splattering Johnsonvilles?
