Zep's "Bron-Y-Aur Stomp," how it builds up til Robert starts singing.
"Moby Dick." It announces Bonham's presence and then kicks into that awesome riff. Simple, no-nonsense, but still in your face.

Something happens to me when the Mariachi trumpets kick on Johnny Cash's "Ring of Fire."
Pants tighten?

So PopTodd footage has aired but not Obama. Huh.
-
Is this the same show PopTodd auditioned for but didn't make the cut?

I'll throw a "woo pig sooie" in here on Brad's behalf. But what was Texas thinking at the end of that game?

I recovered a ball that Papelbon tossed into the stands after the Sox clinched the ALDS this past year. Then I had Peter Gammons sign it.
Did you ever find your keys?

I have not caught a foul ball but someone (I think Sandy Alomar Sr) handed me one that came off the bat of Piazza and went into the dugout. So I've got that going for me.

I still wear my Trot Nixon shirt with honor and pride. You should do the same.
I will wear my DeRosa shirt with honor and pride. I'm getting good at doing that since he's now the third player whose shirt I've purchased, only to have him traded away months later. It's the "second base" shirt Erin gave me that won't be as cool.

it hurts the market value of the "i got to second base with mark derosa" t shirt i bought my wife last year.
I have that shirt. Oh well.

I need to develop better study habits. I make great grades but do so on procrastination and half-assed skimming of books. Seems like an unnecessary source of stress.
I'd also like to get music-making back into my life, either by joining a community orchestra (flute) or learning guitar.

I read a lot less for fun when I'm in school. According to my GoodReads account I read 10 for fun and 10 for school. Then there's the hundreds of pages of articles I read. Still, pretty pathetic. I took one class this Fall semester. That's no excuse for how little I read the first eight months of the year.
Just ordered my books for class last night (taking two this semester.) There's 17 of them. That means I'd better hurry and finish what I'm now reading, because it won't get touched until May once the semester starts:

How 'bout those hogs?!

Happy birthday!!

Aww man!! Well at least I had a good view. The couple in front of us sat most of the show because the girl wasn't a fan and was being a wet blanket.
-
I saw Allison yesterday but she did not see me. She was talking to Andrew pre-show and I was boxed in to the center of my row.

I am also at work.

Happy birthday!!

Armadillo's Pillow in Rogers Park is decent. They have incense and jewelry and other trinkets, too.
There's also Bookleggers on Broadway just north of Diversey. I was in there once and it seemed decent but not amazing. I believe they're cash only.
If you venture down to Hyde Park, there's Seminar Co-op and 57th Street Books. I've never actually been there -- I think they're two separate stores? Looks like they have a joint website.
Unabridged Bookstore in Lakeview (the Boystown part, if you will) is great.
Quimby's big brother, Chicago Comics, is on Clark a little north of Belmont. Just a couple minutes' walk from the Bookworks place LouieB mentioned.
