  1. Bears and Cubs fan here. I was a tot when the Bears last won.
  2. I realized halfway through my voting that the Obama button on my bag was on display, but I was not accused of electioneering.* *which is a Radiohead song.
  3. This morning the Trib reported that 544,000 of Chicagoland's 4.76 million registered voters have voted early and they expect the number to be around 697,000 by the time early voting ends tomorrow evening. edit: I early voted yesterday and had about a 10 minute wait. I just beat a huge rush though.
  4. 1. I am obsessed with SE Asia and am dying to travel there! 2. I live within sight of your first hostel. As LouieB mentioned, there is Hamilton's. But beware: that's where all the Loyola freshman with fake IDs go. Bruno's is my favorite favorite favorite local bar (that's what LouieB referenced as the packaged goods store) and is a little north of the hostel at Sheridan & Loyola Ave. A few blocks further north of that (Sheridan & Columbia) is the Oasis. Kinda divey and Loyola students who are of-age hang out there a lot. They have dart boards and pool tables and stuff. Down at Broadway
  5. Happy birthday to one of my absolute favorite people!!!!!! For your birthday, this guy: would like to take you out for many rounds of these:
  6. So then there's really no immediate consequence to brawling in the post-season, other than being kicked out of that day's game. Interesting.
  7. Ok as long as you mention it, maybe someone here can answer this question Bobble and I had after the Dodgers-Phillies deal the other day. Say there was a brawl in the playoffs and suspensions were handed down. Would those players have to serve them immediately or could they appeal and serve them next year?
  8. Angela: In the Martin family we like to say "Looks like someone took the slow train from Philly." That's code for "Check out the slut."
  9. Dwight: Once I’m officially regional manager, my first order of business will be to demote Jim Halpert. So I will need a new number two. My ideal choice? Jack Bauer. But he is unavailable. Fictional. And overqualified.
  10. We can also go to polling places in Chicago. There's the Election Commission HQ downtown plus one place in each of the 50 wards (mine's at the local branch library, for example.) They're all open Mon-Sat plus the HQ is open on Sundays.
  11. Um, hi. Actually 100 years for this fan's organization. And counting. Always counting.
  12. "He does like the short haired ladies, AND his womyn seems sort of like an old lady. He must be into that or something."
  13. I've got another one austrya will appreciate... my kitchenware is grouped by what I'm most likely to use it for, with 3 drawers further subdividing my small baking tools (drawers for bread stuff, cookie stuff, etc.) When my roommate first moved here and was still unemployed, she was cruisin' for a bruisin' because at least twice a week she'd rearrange the kitchen out of boredom. I put a stop to that real quick.
  14. Mine would if I had more space... although I guess if you include the "less important" books I've delegated to the bookcases at my parents' place, this method covers three bookcases. And yes to the lists! My INTJ things were all moderate, too.
  15. I did back in the day, but I don't keep cd's at my place. They're all in boxes at my parents' house. But my bookcase is arranged thematically in order of importance to me and I group the authors so my favorites are in the middle of the shelves for easy access.
  16. INTJ ...not surprising that I catalog books for a living.
  17. "Sink Ships" ... what's with all the job application stuff?
  18. Clark: Where's Eddie? He usually eats these goddamn things. Catherine: Oh not recently, Clark. He read that squirrels were high in cholesterol.
