  1. I should've checked teh VC before I went apeshit* on Foxwell's fb status. *not really
  2. You know my thoughts on that book! Zooey's my favorite of the two stories. (PS to others -- my cat is named Zooey. )
  3. Happy birthday, Maggie!!! Hope your day's filled with lots of IPAs and of course the musical stylings of this guy:
  4. Plus the Sears Tower is a globally-known building, being the tallest in the world until very recently.
  5. Ugh, I had just about put that out of my mind... of course Sooie likes to describe what this is like to watch my reaction...
  6. I couldn't get into Chronicles either. It's Spring Break, so taking a quick break from the history books:
  7. Bloomington: ORCH-D, row 2! Taking my siblings since my baby brother's a Hoosier.
  8. In! I'd also be interested in a head-to-head league.
  9. No I'm in Chicago... but I've got my brother sleuthing it on the IU student web.
  10. My brother's competing in the Little 500 this year! Can't wait to take him to this show.
  11. Funny you revived this thread today... yesterday the author of Chicago's Polish Downtown was a guest speaker in my public history class.
  12. Happy birthday!! Love you sooooooooo much!! Or, in Fluffy post language:
  13. Franny and Zooey / J.D. Salinger The Things They Carried / Tim O'Brien A Rumor of War / Philip Caputo The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy / Douglas Adams A Tale of Two Cities / Charles Dickens Honorable mention to O'Brien's If I Die in a Combat Zone, which fills in some of the gaps in TTTC. And also to anything Salinger wrote, ever. Speaking of Salinger, I'm curious how many of you who listed Catcher in the Rye have read any of his other stuff. Specifically his stories about the Glass family.
  14. You're thinking too linearly. There's nothing that says the chronology of all the stuff we saw was a normal timeline. I listened to a podcast with Cuse and Lindelof last week where they said they wished the time travel rules of Lost made it possible for them to go back and erase Nikki and Paulo from the show, but alas, they still exist on our DVDs.
  15. Oh yeah! What does the window say... something about well-done and rare books. There's also one on Belmont between the train station and Clark, south side of the street. Another one of those cluttered, stacks of books places.
