They're supposed to be adopting one. Maybe he said puppy because it sounds cuter than dog. Anyway some months back the AKC sponsored a poll to see what kind of dog they should adopt, and I am not a fan of promoting purebreds when there are so many fantastic mutts out there. Plus I mean, how hypocritical would that be?

I think it's Fox News's pundit-heavy shows that give them the bad rap. Whenever Brit Hume is at the helm, I definitely think they have the most objective coverage. I mostly watched CNN and Fox News but as the night went on found myself more and more just watching Fox News. side note: did you see when Rove did Hook 'em Horns and hummed part of the fight song!? Yes.

I was a latecomer to the rally tonight and barely made it for Obama's speech but the atmosphere was INCREDIBLE. My friends and I left my place when Obama's total hit 207 and were only halfway to Grant Park when the train conductor got on the speakers and announced that Obama had just won. Insane! What an amazing historic night. Being American history grad students, we all bought buttons from street vendors specifically commemorating the "history" aspect! That's what absentee ballots were like here when I did one a few years ago. I just trusted that it got somewhere and was counted properly.

It's so interesting to hear all the different methods of voting. We only had the touch screens when I early voted last week, but if I voted today I would've had the paper option as well.

One of my grad school friends is from Pennsylvania and voted in Illinois. I wanted to smack him.
