  1. what part in particular didn't you like? sounded pretty great on my HD TV last night
  2. pretty weak compared to the Ten box set... the Orpheum show is cool and all, but the CD & LP version aren't even the full show! and only one unheard song? (ok, a demo and 2 alt-takes i guess)
  3. interesting that it's the only even remotely rock song on the album too... not saying i need an album full of scorchers, but a few more uptempo songs wouldn't hurt.
  4. yeah, it's really hard not to love them. i guess i can't say i got caught up in the hype as I was lucky to see them twice prior to the full length coming out, but still. the fact that Robin was 19 when he wrote the first album just blows my mind
  5. Peter Buck plays on it, so i'm ok with that
  6. hear the LOVELY title track now: http://www.fleetfoxes.com/ Tour dates: http://www.fleetfoxes.com/tour.html
  7. haha. yes. that's the one. "she should be home by now but she ain't well i shoulda gone by now but i can't" whut?
  8. it grew on me a bit over the weekend, but still don't like it on the level of the first 2 yet. i can't be the only one who cringes from the chorus on Codeine? sucks because musically i dig that song quite a bit.
  9. that article was a bit hairy (no pun intended) with the initial details, as only one of the cats was found right away. the other one that was lost eventually was found on Friday out wandering around in the cold
  10. eh, i'm hardly the only one who didn't like Hazards
  11. while i loved his first record, i'd say they're both best with each other... the last 3 Truckers albums have been GOOD, just not nearly on par w/ Decoration Day or Dirty South.
  12. oh don't get me wrong, i'm enjoying it too, i just think for me it's like a 6.5-7/10 album for me right now is all, versus like an 8/10 for the debut and 7.5/10 for the 2nd record. edit: holy crap! Jason sat in with the Truckers tonight in Hunstville http://yfrog.com/f/gyy88dlj/
  13. as cool as this is, unless Drozd plays drums on the Soft Bulletin songs, i wouldn't be nearly as interested.
  14. so this leaked few days ago and i hate to say this, as i totally love the guy... through a half dozen listens it's just decent so far and i'd be lying if i said it wasn't my least favorite of his solo albums yet. i feel like there's some pretty poor lows on here (esp. lyrically) with Codeine and Heart On A String (which despite the catchy chorus, sounds John Mayer or Amos Lee-ish) and unfortunately unlike the first 2 albums, it doesn't have the crushing highs to fully offset it. There's a lot to like, but so far little to love for me (if i had to pick a favorite i'd say maybe Stopping By
  15. totally agree that record was slept on big time first one was good, but 2nd really blew me away after a while. they're so fabulous live too.
  16. hmm... i was thinking it was Stanley Park?
  17. 2nd Arcade Fire/The National show in Chicago added on Sunday 4/24, onsale tomorrow
  18. weird... i feel like he sounds gorgeous as ever on a lot of songs, esp. Glad Man Singing
  19. totally disagree. this is my 3rd or 4th favorite Decemberists album already, and i've been enjoying it more and more with every listen. there's a lot stronger vocal melodies and lyrics that you're giving it credit for. i like that it's way less wordy and "word nerdy" than the first 2 records too. i think he realized he doesn't have to try and wow everyone with his big words and thesaurus. as someone who had basically written this band off the last 3-4 years, i couldn't have asked for anything more myself
  20. lol. i'm pretty sure that's what they were going for
  21. damn. Paste just posted that the lineup isn't legit... screw you Paste! figured they were pretty reputable... guess not
  22. yeah? i figured Paste is a pretty reputable magazine... fwiw, Coachella misspelled 'Crystal Castles' as 'Crystal Castlest' last night on their official poster only to fix it this morning
