from people in the front row at that show, the opening acts got shit on numerous times and just laughed it off and moved to a diff spot on the stage. KoL are total posers and if you read much about their backstory, they're basically a glorified boy band sure they have a few decent songs, but on the whole they're vastly overrated

absolutely f'n LOVE these songs: Empty Room City With No Children Rococo (silly lyrics sure, but this song is IMMENSE musically) We Used To Wait Sprawl II Ready To Start dig these quite a bit: Half Light II Modern Man Wasted Hours good, but not loving: Suburban War (love the Byrds-esque guitar line) Deep Blue Half Light I just decent: The Suburbs (great lyrics, not a fan of the bouncy rhythm & honky tonk piano really) Month of May (good energy, but not a great track) if i had to pick a least fave song: Sprawl 1 (Flatlands) (gorgeous song, and kinda reminds me of Radio

it's fucking amazing... absolutely blows Neon Bible to pieces

based on this thread I already A) Shut down arcadefire.net and turned it into a Justin Bieber fansite burned all of my Arcade Fire CD's/Vinyl/shirts and ticket stubs and C) swapped my Win Butler body pillow with an Ezra Koenig one
-
not to mention how totally poor quality the clips were
-
i've only had a chance to listen to the new one once, but i immediately liked it a lot more than their last one. but yeah, they're still killer live (even if the last show i did see was skewed towards the new stuff as cryptique said).

you're really gonna make a pre-judgement based on 8 minutes out of a 64 minute album? and 30 sec clips of each track at that? come on now... i wouldn't even think Funeral was that great based on random 30 sec clips.
-
i don't have the album, sorry to disappoint
-
Neon Bible was way more Springsteen/Americana than The Suburbs
-
i'd say just wait until you hear it...
-

it's def Prince's best post '00 album imo, that's for sure. i realize that's not saying a whole helluva lot, but i like every song but 2 at least. Lavoux is badass
-
psst, it's called Teen Dream but i agree, it's their best album by far for me. I like the first one more than Devotion, which was a let down for me. Teen Dream is still in my top 3 for sure. That, Besnard Lakes, and High Violet.

fantastic record.

"Guided By Voices, the classic indie rock band from Dayton, Ohio formed by prolific songwriter and lead singer Robert Pollard in 1983, is reuniting its "classic '93 - '96 lineup" for Matador Records' 21st birthday party in Las Vegas, NV. According to Billboard sources, additional dates in other cities will be announced soon."
-
yeah, that's what i was referring to, not just the GBV news
-
pretty sure i have to attend this...

i like this band a bit, but they actually have 2 albums and an EP they put out before this new one.
