  1. i like it too, but def a step down from Parc Avenue for me
  2. yeah, Phantogram are pretty cool... even if i'd just rather see Handsome Furs at our show about 150 people were there just to see them and left before The Antlers even came on stage, it sucked Sarah from Phantogram is soooo hot
  3. great music is great music despite it's originality or authenticity. if Brothers doesn't turn your crank, so be it, but it's kicking plenty of our asses, even long time Keys fans
  4. fwiw, Danger Mouse only produced one track on the new Black Keys album, the single 'Tighten Up', which is one of the more straightforward tracks on the record surprisingly.
  5. streaming live on WNYC now: http://www.wnyc.org/shows/soundcheck/ Matt's voice sounded gutteral on 'Afraid of Everyone'
  6. yeah... i dunno when you saw them last, but as of last week they're a full on hard rockin' 3-piece now, it's quite a change from the record. it's good mind you, but it's very different.
  7. last song on this album is definitely the best for me, no question. i like it more than Stay Positive, but i've not had much desire to listen to it a ton with all of the other great albums lately
  8. plenty will, but a good chunk of hardcore PJ fans hate almost every opener they have, which is absurd to me because PJ have some of the best openers around usually.
  9. new album is really solid, if not really mellow (but at least gorgeous) on the whole. think i may end up liking it more than the 2nd but def not gonna top the first one for me. as for them opening for PJ, yeah it's gonna be fairly mixed reactions. they're not rocking enough overall (MMJ can be and often are live), and they're more twangy than MMJ these days too.
  10. Theory of Crows is SO amazing isn't it? those lyrics are still some of Matt's best IMO i can safely say that this album is def best enjoyed cranked loud, as i've been doing all afternoon
  11. oh i love a handful of songs on the album (England, Conversaton 16, Runaway, Bloodbuzz, Anyone's Ghost), but hard to compete with songs you've been infatuated with for 3 and 5 years now . honestly if i was forced to pick a least favorite song on the record, Little Faith might be it, sorry
  12. i love it but it's def gonna be a LONG time before i enjoy it more than Boxer or Alligator it's a very consistent album, but so far there's not a single song i love more than All The Wine, Fake Empire, Secret Meeting, Abel, Mr. November, Baby, We'll Be Fine, Apartment Story, etc. The closest so far is England or Conversation 16 probably. i'm sure it's just a matter of time though, for quite a while after it came out i didn't like Alligator as much as Sad Songs either
  13. RHP were great and I always dug them, but Sun Kil Moon is definitely the vastly superior project
  14. stream is back up already
  15. sounds pretty fresh to me... i'd much prefer it be an updated take than a throwback.
  16. http://www.sunkilmoon.com/welcome.html can this year honestly get any better musically?
  17. and did you hear they supposedly have 2 more albums finished and may even release one of those later this year??
  18. absolutely stunning record... it's already making huge waves among casual and non-fans alike on other forums i'm on.
  19. yeah, way way better than Challengers for me too
  20. yeah, it's fantastic. i think it might be his best to date...
  21. i found it a bit too slow/mellow on the whole i think... but it's certainly not a bad record, it's just the first blew me away
  22. Danger Mouse only produced one song on this new one, the single 'Tighten Up'
  23. Compliments is my fave of the 3 songs so far, hoping for better w/ the record tho (or at least just to enjoy it more than the 2nd album, first was brilliant)
