yep. even though i didn't LOVE Kid A from the start (and only midly love it now compared to most RH fans), it at least had a lot of exciting tracks that got your blood flowing. so far the best songs on this are the folkier/mellower numbers (Codex/Ghost) sidebar. How amazing would a York solo album of songs like 'Give Up The Ghost Be'
-
besides Montana/Orikie, i don't think many are saying it sucks, just that it's a "pleasant" but fairly unexciting listen so far
-
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YlGqN3AKOsA granted i don't truly mean that, but that's the first thing i thought of after listening to this a couple times
-
i agree with all of this
-
UGH. how the hell is this revolutionary??!? sorry, i just hate when people throw that tag around with Radiohead.
-
well i like the last 3 songs quite a bit at least...
-
just saw her open for JTE on Monday, lovely set. would have liked a bit more variety in her set tempo wise, but still really gorgeous stuff. her guitarist is pretty hot shit too.
-
yeah, i mean the last 3 have all had gems for sure, but it just feels like a chore for me to sit through a full album by them now, and the last 2 live shows i've seen I almost left early
-
it's taken a few records, but I've finally come to terms with the fact that I just don't love an Isbell less truckers nearly as much... i was a fan before he joined, but i started LOVING them when he joined... and post-Isbell albums for me have just been very good but I have much less interest than I used to, this one included. It doesn't help that Patterson has always been my least favorite vocalist in the group I suppose. *sigh*

woohoo! their show in '08 was killer
-
No Cars Go originally was released in 2003 on their EP, so that's kind of unfair imo. but i'd agree that song is one of their top 3 songs. The Suburubs doesn't have the highs of Funeral, but it's more consistent for me. i was really really let down by Neon Bible myself. i finally came around to it after seeing them about a dozen times on that tour
-
The Suburbs BLOWS away Neon Bible for me... like not even close. and yes, The National make better albums than Arcade Fire, but their live show isn't nearly as close and Matt's vocals have a more limited appeal

you can when it's released to stores on March 28th

i actually walked out of the world premiere of the REM one here in Minneapolis (which Vincent was present at) because the jerky camera work was making me sick
-
i hate Vincent Moon's full length stuff... both that, the Arcade Fire and REM films make me queasy
-
TV performances almost always sound like shit so i thought it sounded quite good compared to most
