after 3 listens to the new Marah i'm pretty indifferent on it overall... some of it is pretty good/rockin', but there's some really bad tracks toob (like the last one, which is just awful ). it's too bad they're such an inconsistent studio act, as their live shows are always incredible.
-
another problem with the album is i'd heard most of it live prior to it's release and the album versions of Brandy Alexandar as well as Sealion compared to the solo live versions aren't nearly as good.
-
^^ agreed i'd maybe agree The Reminder is a better all around and cohesive record (well the fact that it's not half covers like Let It Die helps ), but i still prefer to listen to Let It Die as it's way more upbeat and fun.

yeah, i dig the Park but it should have been a hidden track
-
yeah, pretty good so far...

400 Bar, their usual haunt it's on Ticketweb now... Adam & Dave's Bloodline are opening again too
-
holy shit!!!! they're coming back to Mpls on Jan 26th

no offense, but even Jeff would probably take issue with that statement... not that Jeff isn't a great gutiarist, he is, but still. check out Nels work outside Wilco if you truly believe that to be true.

not a big fan of rock star posturing i guess... he's a fine musician, but his facial expressions & moves just seem kinda funny compared to the rest of Wilco is all. he's pretty much a non-entity for me at Wilco shows anymore though, if nothing else he's hilarious to watch i suppose, but i wouldn't necessarily miss his musical contributions either. then again, for keys it's either him or Mikael... not meaning to diss on him at all either, like i said, he's a fine musician just my .02

this is fucking great

Pat is soooooo damn annoying (granted i've learned to ignore him by now) Power Trio! but nah, i loooooooooooooove Nels

there's a few songs on The Reminder that are better than anything off Let It Die, but overall it's just too slow/mellow and a bit of a downer for me. i like her uptempo stuff a lot too.

yeah, she's a fantastic guitarist
-
i agree the album version isn't that great, but her solo version of it is stunning IMO: http://www.publicradio.org/tools/media/pla...50708_feist.pls

i'm still not as keen on the new album compared to her last one, but i still think 1, 2, 3, 4 is a great song, overexposure or not.

you watch too much TV

she's fantastic live too!

i haven't seen mine since Christmas, and probably won't until next spring glad i could help make you feel like less of a nerd/freak/weirdo!

lol. some people on arcadefire.net call hardcore AF fans "moths", since they used to use pictures of them on their old website and in other artwork. i should note that 10 of those were this year (that probably just makes me look worse doesn't it? )

right, but i'm just saying that for the most part it's not calculated or planned out ahead of time or anything. stuff usually just happens and if they get a good reaction it may and often will carry over from show to show. i've seen them 13x now since 2004, i've seen them do different things almost every show, but yes, some stuff is similiar from show to show on occasion, i'll give you that. they're still a very very dynamic live act however. the antics rarley even phase me anymore, unless it's something super unique (like Will climbing a 60' lighting rig at Berkeley, running clear to the ba

that one is just a quicktime, i'll see about making it not auto-start
-
oh man, she's absolutely incredible, especially live
-
guess i'm glad i saw her back in May :/ but that show was enjoyable mostly because of the Dap-Kings backing her, they aren't currently. now that Sharon Jones has a new record out and is touring, who gives a shite about Ms. Winehouse

depends on the sacrifices or personal changes you make along the way...
