i'm with peel... that clip is not good i mean yes i realize it's only 30 seconds, so i'm not going to judge the track or anything, but still, the bass playing on it alone sounds pretty poor

first one yes, Antics, besides 4-5 songs, was rather a let down for me. didn't have as energetic stuff as Obstacle nor as somber/gorgeous stuff as NYC or Untitled.

maybe so, but you can still get a bit of a vibe from a few exchanges that Jeff was seemed a bit annoyed (and rightfully so) with a few of his assumptions

their lyrics are just so abstract and sometimes comical though that i get a kick out of their absurdity sometimes. but i just get annoyed at people who treat their lyrics like they're some deep/dark meaningful shit, when in fact it's mostly random. sometimes they're at least clever though.

honestly, since i've never seen them, i'm quite alright with them playing most of "the hits" i'll be satisfied with my $80 ticket just to hear So Lonely

decent song, but doesn't excite me for the new record at all.. as much as i like Interpol, it appears as though their lyrics will never improve enough to not bother me

i scored a pristine used version of that on vinyl for my buddy for xmas last year

yup. the first one was far from amazing, but it had a few killer tunes, and that one being easily the best. they were absolutely terrible the 3x i saw them (twice opening for BSS and once opening for Ryan Adams)

what would be without Wishful Thinking? i don't think they'd have any problem selling out (or close) First Ave if they announced the show on Tuesday or Wednesday next week and even just did day of show tickets only at like $25-30 a pop... my thought is the band may not bring their own equipment for APCH, simply cuz it is only 2-3 songs or so. a Jeff solo show might be more feasible

fwiw, someone i know in NYC has heard the new album and said if you liked Gimme Fiction, you should enjoy this one, but that he wasn't exactly bowled over it by any means. so who knows...

they had a screening of it here last Friday but i missed it due to Joseph Arthur

for sure.. it still blows the shit out of the last DBT album, that much is certain

not gonna lie, i was hoping for it to blow me away as we've been anticipating it so long... but it's still a really solid effort for sure
