for a period from 1995 to 2000 or so, he was easily my favorite artist... possible ever, and still is up there i have never been as infatuated by a single person/artists music as i was when i was fully into Buckley mode. hard to believe it's been 10 years if you've never seen the Live in Chicago (from the Metro in '95) DVD, you owe it to yourself. if you're a casual fan and that doesn't give you chills, i don't know what to say. i've made more Jeff fans from recommending that DVD than anything

So Lonely is the only song i'd be bummed if they didn't play i could hear only that one and go home happy
-
i'd be fine with that setlist in July

well i've loved all but their first album and i really dig this one too. this one has a bit more electronic flourishes/beats, but so far i'm liking it a lot. the last 2 songs are killer (especially the 2nd to last). Chris Walla produced it, sounds great.

i would never claim they "sold out"... but still, 5 songs? and the songs don't even seem to really fit the commercials all that well (well the 2 we've seen) imo. when the commercials are great and the song fits it, i totally support whoever the artist is letting their songs be used. doesn't make me feel any differently about Wilco, i just kinda wonder why at this point i guess -
all 3 shows were fantastic my favorite was Friday, followed every so closely by Sunday

true, true the S/T has some great tracks too and then there's the 2 black sessions, etc. etc.

for me i prefer the rockers (thus why my fave album is still De Stijl), but i hate Jack's often nasally whine, which occurs mostly on the higher tempo stuff... it's a double edged sword :/

it's decent yeah... bit more jazzy/top 40 than i'd prefer though, and not a patch on Neil's last solo record whatsoever (especially his vocals). i just hope they don't play like 8-10 songs a night from it like they have at some of their early shows so far this tour from what i've read though, Neil has stated this isn't some one off thing, and that they are back for good, so that's cool.

yes they are! i only sorta liked the record (3-4 great tracks), but man, live they destroyed it... their cover of Lennon's "Well, Well, Well" is stunning as for people turning away from them for being Christian, idiotic... it's not like it's obvious at all from their music. so is it ok if you're up front about it at first ala Sufjan or Pedro The Lion then?

i'm guessing this is the commercial w/ Donovan's "Catch The Wind"... -
never really been a big fan, but wanna hear that song w/ Midlake

Everybody Knows is good... HH shoulda been a b-side. not bad, but it'd bring even the best of albums down a notch.

now y'all need Alligator & Sad Songs For Dirty Lovers too
-
the title cut is the last track on the promo, not sure if it made the retail or not?
-
it's really good stuff... i highly doubt they're gonna ever touch the first album (and probably even 2nd and 3rd) for me, but this is definitely better than Lullabies, which i never really got into for whatever reason. other than a couple songs it's not a very rockin'/heavy record, but it might be their most interesting release musically... or at least up there w/ Rated R the track w/ Lanegan (Into The Hollow) is fantastic
-
they're both really great tracks as well! Blank Slate is a finished and more uptempo version of Keep It Upstairs from the Abel single, which i liked a lot too.

if i recall, Wilco wanted to be one of the first rock bands to play Millennium Park when it opened a couple years back but that never happened.

well i was still a huge fan in '90-94, but i lived in Montana, so we had to wait a while it wasn't that huge of place though, 6-8k but yeah, i've heard plenty of early bootlegs from that era to support my belief as well.

oof, not me... even when i was in my full tilt pumpkins mode the first time i saw them (Jan '97). Fountains of Wayne (who i'd never heard of until that night) were actually way better. i did meet Billy and Jimmy Flemion that day though, which was pretty cool.
