  1. wow that scream on "Charmer" is fucking annoying no surprise to me, but not really into this much. some of the guitar & drum tones are a bit butt-rock-ish at times even. The Runner however, is a fantastic song.
  2. far as i know, Arcade Fire won't be there, or haven't expressed any interest as of yet anyway, but i'm sure things could change.
  3. yeah, that's what i figured for SP, that's how it is here too. Snow Patrol are tolerable, but not worth much $$ live, especiallyin a big venue. Colin promised us something special too last fall... and then they announced this upcoming tour which skips the Twin Cities... so fuck that guy that and i haven't seen Ted Leo since October 2003
  4. they're really solid live, and have gotten a LOT better over the last year (guess that's what a world tour will do for ya)
  5. Pre-Sales http://www.andrewbird.tickets.musictoday.c...d/calendar.aspx
  6. Andrew will be touring with Twin Cities musicians Martin Dosh (Drums, Keyboards, etc.) and Jeremy Ylvisaker (Guitar, Bass, etc.) 4/11/2007 Calvin College - Ladies Literary Club Grand Rapids, MI 4/12/2007 Majestic Theater Detroit, MI 4/13/2007 Southern Theatre Columbus, OH 4/14/2007 Southgate House - Ballroom Newport, KY 4/16/2007 Mercy Lounge Nashville, TN 4/17/2007 The Pageant St. Louis, MO 4/18/2007 Canopy Club Urbana, IL 4/20/2007 Riviera Theatre Chicago, IL 4/21/2007 The Pitman Theater Milwau
  7. yeah, that doesn't help, but i can admit when a lineup is just ridiculous, and that usually means *I* even consider going, that's when you know it's an amazing festival lineup
  8. NP: i think this might be their best full length yet
  9. you listen to music faster than anyone i know...
  10. ah. previous lineups: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bonnaroo
  11. you think so? i guess it's just that the only band in that lineup that i have never seen that would really want to, is The Police. rest are bands that i've seen (most multiple times), and will likely see over the next year. it's about 1/8th as great as that early leaked/rumored lineup, which is even less of the bands from that list that i expected.
  12. so far this lineup really isn't all that impressive honestly but there's still at least 2 rounds of announcements to go
  13. Bomb. Repeat. Bomb. reminds me of Nada Surf's "Popular", and it sounds like they're singing "Peanut. Butter. Peanut. Butter" at first
  14. i'm just hoping i like it more than the last one. Sheets had a ton of amazing songs (as do all his records), but on the whole it was my least favorite of his. still digesting this one quite a bit though, few songs that i'm pretty about
  15. pretty solid so far. a LOT more acoustic guitar this time around... kinda prefer Ted's Thin Lizzy riffs more... not blowing me away or anything yet but there's some really solid tracks. i'm not too into that loung-y ballad though, The Toro & Toreador or whatever, and Bottle of Buckie is kinda odd (The Pogues? ok...) it's also pretty long for him (61 minutes)
  16. ^^ probably will later this year. although, to be accurate, 3 of the members are from the US originally, and 1 still lives there
  17. nice! that will be a HOT ticket to get (it'll sell out in 10-15 minutes, maybe less), as it's the smallest venue of any on the regular US tour by almost half.
  18. i've witnessed a few bigger ones i saw the Killers (didn't go for them) open for Stellastarr* at the 7th Street Entry (capacity of like 225-250, and it wasn't even sold out), in April 2004, a year later they were playing smaller arenas, and the summer after that they were playing at Live 8 also, Arcade Fire opened for U2 for 3 shows in 2005 as well
