i checked out the clips over the weekend... can't say i was feelin' the sound/vibe too much. mostly Bono's vocals these days, dude needs to just sing and forget crooning.

he listed the timeframe for the '08 Grammy's... add a year onto those... Oct '07 through Sept '08

yeah that was it. some reason i was thinking she did two, but that was another show i went to recently where someone did 2 Dylan covers. the other 3 Adele did: Fool That I Am (Etta James) That

one would assume. honestly dunno if i'm willing to give them another chance... last 3x i've seen them have all been let downs. granted doesn't help that i haven't loved an album of theirs since Her Majesty either, but still. seems like they're always sick when they come through Mpls and it affects their performance quite a bit. first time it was Petra who was sick (when she toured w/ them), then i think Colin.

neither Duffy or Adele have anything to do with Disney, nor are straight up pop singers either. they're from the UK

DUFFY. DUFFY. not Hillary Duff

i like a few songs on her record, but she's SO annoying live, and is a total American Idol style performer (she got her start on Welsh Idol i guess). i didn't choose to see her live, just caught a few songs @ Lolla on the way to see Black Keys and damn her wavery baby voice was killing my ears
-
just glad she got these awards instead of Duffy (who sadly still won one)
-
she's only 20 too

i saw Adele a few weeks ago here, she put on a really great show. album is a little on the dull side, but she def has a great voice no doubt. did 2 great Dylan covers and an awesome Sam Cooke one.

yeah, sorry i just find his delivery on those opening lines really whiny and obnoxious :/. the chorus of it is just fine. i'd put it very near the middle (if not closer to the bottom) as a result.

this version of Golden Age is 100x better than SNL:
-
Dancing Choose, while somewhat an annoying song (mostly the vocal intro), sounded a lot better at least
-
wow they sounded terrible on Golden Age... horns overpowered everything

i'm not denying that...and i agree with you guys... nor have i ever said i prefer artists who don't change or challenge themselves. but what i've gathered from his posts is basically ANY band or artist who doesn't change their formula is no longer worth listening to after a certain point. which to me just boggles my mind i guess... there has to be balance. and also when you get to the point of putting unrealistic expectations on your favorite acts, you're just going to be let down at every turn too. you can't just say that any band who changes/evolves drastically over the course of their car
-
so you think even blues musicians who have played the blues for 40 years suck and what they do is just tired? or do you have double standards for certain artists/styles? just trying to understand your logic here
-
they are great live. saw them last summer and loved it.
