Dead from cancer at the age of 63. I didn't know that she was sick. This one is a sad surprise. http://www.tmz.com/2012/05/17/donna-summer-dead-last-dance/ Rest in peace, you disco diva.

My son showed me a few last week. Type in a search for "Do a Barrel Roll" and see what happens. EDIT: Doesn't seem to be working anymore. Bummer.

Been listening to a bit of Anthrax recently. They do kick my ass. And brilliant work as usual, Tinnitus.

The post-prison/sober work is better, I would say.

Didn't get to read the whole thing (yet). But I am waiting with bated breath for the new album to be released. Always good news when there is new Grant material in the offering. And glad to read that he's doing okay.

His performance never became a trainwreck on Thursday. In fact, it was very, very good; I just had the feeling that it could have been better. And he was never really falling down, just seemed a little lost at times.

Have I ever mentioned how much I love Craig Ferguson?

As a huge Bonzo Dog Band fan, this is my favorite: -
No I had not. So he kinda kicked my ass that way.

Saw JTE last week. The show was damn good; he is a surprisingly good guitar player. Thing is, he looked like shit. Looked like he's back on the junk: clothes are falling off of him, and he appeared to be in a bit of a daze. It was amazing that he was able to perform as well as he did. Sad, really, and dampened my enjoyment of what would have been an otherwise excellent show. EDIT: I'm not saying that he IS off the wagon, I'm just reporting on what I saw and expressing my concern.

Sux. This guy was maybe the best bassist whose name was not Jamerson. RIP, Duck.

augurus: How you digging that Best Coast?

Not in Oshkosh, in Vernon Hills, IL. But I am seriously considering this. More and more. It will probably depend upon ticket price. (And, I'm surprised that they're not playing Ravinia.)

So, The Zombies are playing a show near me at the end of July. Question is: is it worth it to go? Normally I am not one for nostalgia shows, especially from the Baby Boomer generation (my parents' generation). But this is The Zombies! Not sure how much tickets are (which will be a factor), but... Anyone seen 'em recently? Is it just Blunstone and Argent with young ringers, or is it the band? Worth it? Would you go?

I would love to be a good gardener: eat things that I have culled from the ground, myself. Sad thing is, I have killed cacti. A total brown thumb. I envy you.
