  1. Saw them once and they were good, but only played for about 1/2 hour. And they were the headliners. Hopefully they'll extend their set a bit these days.
  2. I agree. I actually think that those characters were the weak link in the movie, though; really the only weak thing about the film. So, the weakness of that last scene didn't really shock me by that point.
  3. And hopefully a swing through the Midwest. This is good news.
  4. Played on nothing but toys. But it's not a conceit that comes off as mere gimmickery, this is a fucking GREAT record. Includes a brilliant cover of the Doobies' "What a Fool Believes" that is, I think, one of the great covers of all-time. And, I'm not just being hyperbolic. WITNESS:
  5. My youngest is very allergic to cats and dogs but wanted a pet, so, we got a bearded dragon. His name is "Poopie Von Poopie" and he's pretty cool. At first, until you get the hang of regulating the temperature in the enclosure, it's a lot more difficult to take care of one of these guys than you might think. But then, once you get it right in there, it's not so bad. He eats greens, berries, and live crickets (which we have to keep in a separate enclosure, and feed their own food) just once a day. His poop is pretty nasty, but he only goes a couple of times a week, so it's not too terrible. My
  6. First listen, but think that I like this better than BOOM!
  7. HOW THE HELL DID I MISS THIS? Has anyone seen this? Impressions? I loved this band back in the late 80's and early 90's. And, around that time, they were, in fact, the GREATEST live band in the world. I can attest to that fact firsthand.
  8. I would love to see them. The only related band that I've seen is Monks of Doom, who actually kicked a ton of ass.
  9. None of this is my work, but my friend Matt did the animation and associated illustration. It's his first attempt at this sort of thing and I think that it's, frankly, amazing. Best viewed in full-screen HD. That way you can catch all the little details.
  10. As GtrPlyr stated in his post: Country Music HoF is a great day. It was a LOT better done than I expected it to be and really, really, really cool. Lots of music (of course), and some artifacts that you might not expect to see. My favorite thing: Gram Parsons' nudie suit! He was a much smaller man than I thought that he was. That thing was just so cool.
  11. So, it's just gonna be me and my acoustic guitar. I'm thinking about just sitting down in front of a few mics and busting out and mixing the 8 or 9 songs in a single session. Cutting it completely live, with no (or bare minimum) overdubs. I think that, with the format that I've chosen, it will bring out the intimacy inherent in that kind of recording. I know that it will be more difficult to get a perfect take, but that is maybe part of the point. What do you all think about albums like this. I'm thinking if stuff like Springsteen's Nebraska an
  12. Well, maybe not a movie actor, but Steve Burns (of Blue's Clues fame) put out a pretty good record a few years back. His backing band? The Flaming Lips! Enjoy.
  13. Loose 15 lbs. Write (at least) one song a month. Get a handle on my finances. Find more time for just me and the wife.
