  1. Just trying to heed the rules of "no links", but since you asked it's ChicagoMixtape dot com. How's that?
  2. Glad that I could add some levity to your day. You just brought a smile to my face, as well.
  3. First listen, and a couple of songs in, both of them are really cool. I know that it comes off like I am street teaming, but I am sincere. I am not paid for talking about this site in any way, shape or form. Just genuinely think that it seems like a cool idea. And, so far, so good.
  4. Awesome! You are not off-base. I will check it out and see what's included (because I already have several albums.) Thanks for the heads up!
  5. When you sign up at this sight, you get a new compilation of local music to download each week. I signed up. Seems kinda cool. Hope that it is.
  6. You would know Thin Lizzy's songs: "The Boys are Back in Town", "Dancing in the Moonlight", "The Cowboy Song". Yeah, you know those tunes, for sure. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L8UoUXmKH_A (That's Gary on the right, with the shorter hair.)
  7. I think that I may have mentioned Elliott Easton way back early on in the thread. But yeah, he kills me, too.
  8. In one of my old punk bands, the lead guitar player always called Prince one of the biggest influences on his playing. And, I could hear it. So, yeah, I've known a couple guitar players who said so. But, I guess that Prince has always been known more for his hits than his guitar playing (even, for the most part, by other guitar players), so I can see your point. But I definitely see him as one of the greats. And, Eddie Hazel, too.

  10. I remember that. I was merely referring to his failure of being mentioned in this thread. And, we need further shaming for the omission of Eddie Hazel: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KXq4GlHgROQ
  11. I just went back through this whole thread, and I don't think that I saw Prince mentioned a single time. Wow. Shame on us. Check out his solo here... it starts around 3:30. And check out the look on Dhanni Harrison's face while Prince is going off. Freaking priceless. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ifp_SVrlurY
  12. Hen's Teeth is the only gaping hole in my BS collection. And, the more I hear about it, the more I think that I really do need it. I will be picking that one up as soon as my bank account recovers from this recent purchase. But thanks for the reinforcement.
  13. Brinsley Schwarz - It's All Over Now Brinsley Schwarz - Rarities Brinsley Schwarz - Live at the Top Rank Cardiff: 7/19/74
  14. IT CAME! IT CAME! IT CAME! (of course, it came after I contacted him about my first order not coming!) EDIT: First listen. First song on It's All Over Now. Sound quality = BRILLIANT.
  15. So, being directly in-touch with Mr. Gomm has allowed me to ask him a question that I have wanted to know the answer to for some time: Where the HELL can I get Jim Ford's original recording of "Ju Ju Man"? Did he ever record it himself? I figured that, if anyone would know, it would be a member of the band that did one of the earliest recordings (if not the earliest recording) of the song. So, I asked him. Here is what he said: Damn. Still, it's cool to get some insight into one of my favorite recordings of all time. Trying to picture Jim teaching the song to the band, while one or more
