My 7-year-old (the one not into Green Day) is HUGE into Beethoven and is just starting to get into Mozart, too. This reminds me of when he was 5 and wanted me to take him to see "Beethoven, in concert". He was pretty disappointed when I told him why we couldn't.

This is really cool. Looking forward to hearing the pieces.

Green Day is my 10-year-old's favorite band. I think that says a little something about both parties, to tell you the truth. Still, he has Bullet In a Bible (the live album) and I gotta say that it's a helluva live album. EDIT: I played my son a few songs off of Buzzcocks - Singles Going Steady. His response? "Oh my God! Green Day TOTALLY want to be The Buzzcocks! Billie Joe even sings kinda like them. They're still my favorite band, though."

So, I originally sent this in a private message to another boarder, but thought that it might be good enough to share. So... RAWK ME GENTILE Song List: 25 O'Clock - The Dukes Of Stratosphear XTC in disguise. This is pure, authentic psychedelic pop. Close your eyes and you could swear it was Syd and not XTC. I've Been Lonely For So Long (demo version) - Fredrick Knight One of several songs on this comp that came from another comp -- The Birmingham Sound: The Soul of Neil Hemphill. Pure, deep soul from the 60's. Will He Be Waiting For Me - Dolly Parton So much more than boobies. Dolly

It was "I'm the Urban Spaceman" - very good. It just so happens that Viv is the guy in my avatar; and I just used that for reference, but you're right that Neil did sing "Urban Spaceman". Now: Who produced it and what was their real name?
-
The guy in my avatar was the singer in a band called The Bonzo Dog Band, who had a top-10 hit (in the UK) back in the 1960's. • What was the name of the song? • Who produced it? • And what was the producer's real name?

Name ALL of Spinal Tap's drummers, beginning from their days as The Thamesmen.

Barry Adamson - As Above, So Below (available for $0.22) Former member of The Bad Seeds and Magazine.... like soundtrack music without the movie. Jazz-inflected and dark. The guy is excellent. Barry Adamson's AllMusic entry.

Just go to a bunch of guitar stores, play a whole shitton of guitars that are in your price range, and buy the one that feels and sounds the best to you. If you follow my advice, you'll probably find something that you never dreamed of ever owning; and being a whole lot happier with it. The wand chooses the wizard. or something.

YES! That's it! Not a "great" song by any means, but it brings me back. So much fun. Thanks!

"That woman stole my song!!!" Attribute the quote to the correct musician. To who were they referring, and to which song?

They just re-ran his outstanding "Pubs of Dublin" special on Saturday night here on the Chicago PBS station. Damn. RIP.

I used to have this on a mixtape that I got from a friend back in 89 or so. Just a fun, fun song. Stupid. But fun. As a refresher, here are the lyrics: Anyone remember it? Have it?
