what, i havent heard the full cd but straight lines is possibly the worst song i have ever heard i saw them at big day out this year and they were awful, daniel johns is such a wanker he was talking in this gay american accent (no offence) but he thought he was james brown or something it was painful to watch. but yeah frogstomp is fucking awesome the rest is pretty shit i only wish they were 14 again
You see, I think that Frogstomp sucks a bag full of goat dicks.
But the new one is great.
Hey... to each their own.

They became a really GOOD band!!!
yeah, I know that they were only 14 or so when they released their first album, but I never would have expected anything like
Young Modern
Sounds like a lost Supergrass record -- and one of their best, at that.
Just... damn.
Anyone else showing love for them?
Seriously, I was shocked.
-
I wish I listened to Uncle Tupelo 14 years ago.
I saw them in 1989 -- pre-N.D.
Hooked ever since!
-
I just think of the Uncle Tupelo song.
Oh, and I slept through it.
-
Sounds like a dcumentary I'd really enjoy.
Saturday, April 19th is "Record Store Day". I know of at least three stores here in Atlanta that are having live music, free beer, discounts, etc.
I've seen some great in-stores in my time, too.
Neutral Milk Hotel, Richard Thompson, and Cornershop are the first ones that come to mind.
It is, indeed, a sad state of affairs.

BORIS THE SPRINKLER!!!
I saw those guys open for The Mr. T. Experience around that time. They were nuts! Brought the drummer out, with a leash and chain, clad in nothing but a loincloth and Mexican wrestling mask. Then played a totally manic set.
And, I think that Screeching Weasel was on the bill that night, too.
Good times.

Okay... having a second listen now, and... you Nick Lowe fans out there, really MUST have this. Nick was trying his damndest to actually be Jim Ford back in the Brinsley Schwarz days. At least vocally.
Combine Parliament with Porter Wagoner, Chuck Berry, The Band and Van Morrison and you're pretty close.
"It's where country meets funky."

I've laways had a soft spit for MMM Bop
Many people have.
But personally, I like the song.

The British scene, and NME in particular, are notorious for being all about "The Band Of The Moment".
Not totally surprising.

Just arrived, and... DAMN!
Just wish that it had his version of "Ju Ju Man" on there -- arguably the best rock and roll song, ever.

With all this love, I'll have to go back and listen to Kettle Whistle again.
Not expecting much from it, but what the hell?
-
I know that a lot of you didn't like it, but a lot of you did. So, fair warning that I'll be taking this down in a couple of days.
Thanks again for listening, and for your honest feedback.
-
The last time they raided the vaults, we got:
Kettle Whistle
Which makes me significantly less excited for this release.
Although the reuniting with Eric Avery does make me prick up my ears a bit more.
