  3. Im not positive, but I think it is the back up players wearing masks for the first song. Not sure if they did that every night. wiki " pink floyd the wall tour" some of the vids are great, although I think some of the audio is not original to the video. As you watch it, you realize what a shame it is that Gilmour and Waters stopped playing music together. Check out the young lust:
  4. from what Ive heard, its not hard to score a ticket outside, at least up here in NY/NJ I love the final cut, Id love to hear that one as well. Ive been watching songs from the original wall show on you tube. the videos index one after the other-VERY COOL
  5. I meant he/she needs to listen to it another ten times And I think a very large percentage of current fans would say that no code or yield is their favorite. Personally, I like them equally up until riot act. The last three have a few songs I really like, and a few songs I really dont.
  6. I think you might need to give present tense another listen or ten. One of their best songs.
  7. The key is that it is available on vinyl, otherwise I agree. Live electric PJ on vinyl from more recent tours. $28 bucks shipped. Good enough for me. Something tells me there will be more surprises from PJ in 2011.
  8. I thought it was strange that some folks were printing out tickets. Probably a bunch of scalpers that dont realize there is no box office.
  9. I love that they ended the main set with phone went west-such a great song live.
  10. The simple fact about bowery is that it is a very, very small room. There just isnt enough tickets for everyone. I was just glad to hear that some fans actually got tickets-even though I was not one of them.
  11. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hiJ9AnNz47Y changed music forever appearance and choreography becomes more important than the music
  12. Well I signed up and became a member for the member sale. I was a little late, but only the last three rows of the orch were available-so I grabbed third row balcony. Hard to tell if they saved any of the orch for the public sale the bowery will be a VERY difficult ticket The scalpers will be all over both. I think you would be lucky to get ANY ticket to either show.
  13. Yup. Probably the same ticket broker mentioned above. Hopefully its a paperless ticket and the scalpers get foiled when they try to sell two. Good luck to everyone on Friday.
  14. and there you have it this will be a very difficult ticket to get period its a very small room

  16. Bowery and Tarrytown probably have higher than usual booking fees. I believe Wilco and Tweedy try to keep its prices down as best they can.
  17. I am now. Row c in the balcony. Only a handful of Orch tickets left for members. Id guess they are saving some for the public onsale. Im happy. I live close by and will use the membership.
  18. Great thread As far as the beasties go, ill communication is their finest work IMHO Stuff I like that occasionally gets me ridiculed: Hall and Oates Shakira (in small doses-maybe its the booty )
  19. approximately $10 million with $3 million plus still being earned each year
  20. yes there have been cancellations and no question it has slowed down big time but is that due to the price or the lack of interest?
  21. I forgot about coldplay As far as filling arenas, I dont see how it relates to napster at all. Napster promoted piracy. If anything, you would think that would increase concert attendance due to it becoming a primary source of revenue. I beleive that is why you are seeing all the nostalgia acts-much fewer folks are buying their records these days. Its the internet in general. The increased exposure of so many types of music and artists being available through so many different sources. And its the emergence independent labels and artists breaking away from the record companies' traditi
  22. green day came close to selling out giants stadium dave matthews sells a lot of tickets at the major baseball parks phish could probably come close to selling out a stadium in the right place on the right night not sure if you consider these "modern" rock acts also, Jay-z/eminem sold out yankee stadium and although its rap, they put on quite a show and it was the hottest ticket in town there are a few "modern" acts that can do stadiums, and do them well-but I do agree that its nothing like the late 70s-eagles, stones, zep floyd, fleetwood mac, ac/dc, aerosmith, sabbath-Im probably forgetti
