  1. This should be obvious but Johnny Greenwood!!!! The Bends, bends my ears!! Ok Computer is all tone the Paranoid Andriod freakout!! Just for my sakes!!

I gotta see these guys live someday soon.

oh yea how about Malkmus ! Wowee Zowee has some pitch perfect moments Motion suggest itself anyone?

  2. Seriously, not angry at all. But I believe I bring a different, well, a perspective that doesn't involve drinking the Wilco Kool-aid. What made me register was the Dylan comment and then the "influence many modern bands" comment.

Wilco is still a secret to most of America, and that's ok, but let's not put them too high on the pedestal just yet.

You my good sir are retarded. I was the one who made that Dylan comment. Clearly you didn

  3. You are reading far too much onto this.

Thats extremly likely but its easter and I have lots of time.

But I have read many interviews where Ryan Adams shows his displeasure for being looked at as a Gram Parsons 4.0 or w.e

I blame my insanity on Bright Eyes I fell for "Im wide awake its morning" I actually thought he wrote it while hitchhicking on trains across the midwest looking for New York.

Im going back to Woody Guthrie I dont care if theres no melodies, Im done.

  4. To who? The two hundred rock critics who will remember either one of them in 20 years?

Well to music fans, so I guess that includes critics. Wilcos records have been culturally important and have influenced many modern records and bands.

It might be stupid to compare anyone to Dylan but I was just trying to make the point stick. Wilco have had a few significant Velvet Underground type influential records

    even if people who don

  5. right, but what I got from it was that while he was sorta making fun of himself "fake accent" roots music and all, he was saying Wilco plays the counrty music America loves but wears designer clothes you know, making them a "hip" modern band. Its like hes saying Wilco pretend to be cool while they in actuality make the same type of music that Adams gets critisized for leaning on or stealing.

I think Ryan Adams is hillarious and I do enjoy his muisc I'm not idily bashing him, at the same time I am aware of his tendencies to bash Tweedy and I think he is totaly full of shit. He definetly ressents the fact that people treat him like a kid dressed as Gram Parsons for halloween while JTs every word is treated as gospel(rightfuly so).

I love how after he says like wilco in designer clothes he looks into the camera pauses and smirks, good stuff.

  6. I am Not Afraid of you and I will beat your ass - really grabbedd me, Im late to the game.

is I Can Hear the Heart Beating as One the classic its supose to be, i think im gonna pick it up this week.

If not what should be the YLT record I get next considering where I started.

  7. Hey! dose anyone remember when the band released a list of evrey Sky Blue Sky song and a description of what its about.

I remember a great explanation for You Are My Face. I tried searching for it, no such luck.

lets keep this goin ... working in the gold mine fulltime filling in for sunshine? what dose that mean.

  8. Had you said Foxtrot or AGIB I would have maybe agreed. As it stands, I doubt many people would disagree that Sky Blue Sky isn't exactly the most "original" sounding record Wilco has ever crafted.

I disagree completely as to my point, while Sky Blue Sky is their "Wilco" record where they sorta mash up rip offs of there own songs in the tone of Jesus etc the whole time,

it is still a very original recording. My point is that Ryan Adams would never produce a song like Side With The Seeds or You Are My Face.

Maybe Foxtrot and AGIB would make the point better but thats just to easy, I mean ofcourse they are way more original than anything RA has made but so is No Depression for ALTCOUNTRY'S SAKES

Heartbreaker is a great record though and RA has a spot in the music I like but when we look back 20 years from now Tweedy is gonna seem like Dylan and Adams well he'll be more of a Donavan.

Im not being sensitive but I wouldnt put it past him if he decided to diss Wilco before he recorded that. I mean he basickly says "write the hits america loves a little country a little modern like wilco in designer clothes"

  9. hasnt Ryan Adams dissed Tweedy like a million times. I think he wishes his songs were half as inventive/original. I have no reason to hate on Mr.Adams hes making positive music but the guy dosent have an original song in his entire catalouge. I mean if he wrote something as original as Sky Blue Sky I would be floored, no joke.

He should keep to dissing Bright Eyes at least their only slightly better. Wilco is past the horizian of Ryan Adams little world, joke.

  10. Handshake drugs are the way a drug dealer hands you drugs, with a handshake. This implies the drugs are illegal.

Aswell while smilling dosent cure loneliness it dose help "fight" it as your brains chemicals change when you smile even if you force it.

I think the line Jesus dont cry is using the name Jesus the was western culture is known to i.e Jesus, wuts wrong with you or Jesus! are you nuts!

    I could be worng

  11. The psychoactive effects of cannabis, known as a "high", are subjective and can vary based on the individual. Some effects may include general change in consciousness (altered perception); mild euphoria; feelings of well-being, relaxation or stress reduction; lethargy; increased appreciation of humor, music or art; joviality; metacognition and introspection; enhanced recollection of episodic memory; increased sensuality; increased awareness of sensation; increased libido; creative or philosophical thinking; disruption of linear memory; paranoia, agitation or anxiety; potentiation of other psychedelics and increased awareness of patterns and color.

We have a winner, only way to make sense of what I said. Seriously though I just read the last two pages of this disscussion and I dont no what I was thinking :stunned lol.

So I'll apoligize for stupidity, and try to add something productive to the conversation next time.

    Word is Bond

  12. Hucabee as far as I can see was Invented to fuck up the race. Seriously John Mcain you do all realise that John Kerry asked him to be his running mate laughs.

Concerning the democrats it is becoming very entertaining watching how desprate one Hilary Clinton wants this. Her ambition is so ugly. Its like she was promised something that she is not getting. Remember back in 04 all the critisism she was getting for allegedly wanting the democrats to loose so she could run in 08.

Then again Obama got the rocafella endorsment. Hes the one!(neo)

  13. I wish they played that kind of stuff on the weather channel! Its weird Impossible Germany for me has gotten better over time it physically drains me by the end.

Its so intense that I have to sit down after rocking out. Dose this happen to anyone else?

Keep in mind, that the amps are turned down really low so all the noise he makes on SBS is purely technical (speed!)Jeff probably isn

  15. For me that period of Stones material is untoucable, its like Buddy Holly or something.

I'd still take the beatles output from that period though, not including the white album.

Keith Moon is great but when the material gets proggy...yuk.

just to throw this in, how about The Velvet Undergrounds material from this period(including that lost album what was it called again?)

For me listening to VU today I realise they are way more releveant than the stones , the who and especially zeppelin.

Besides the beatles they are the most inffluential band from this era. am I crazy?
