  1. I was not there but my friends were and they called me because they were shocked. Jimmy page came up on stage at a Harry Connick show at James L Knight Center in Miami....had to be mid-late 80's. Need to verify if he did actually play.
  2. Man so good....Wish they were coming to SoFL...I don't blame them...last time they couldn't even fill 500 person club (Culture Room). UPDATE...they are coming to SoFL and 4 dates in Florida in June....for my Birthday....whoohooo
  3. Looks like I'm going to see Dark Star Orchestra tonight in Ft. Lauderdale. Anyone down is SoFl wants to tailgate before on hang...let me know
  4. RIP This is so great yet so disturbing....cant paste link but it is Devo on Human Highway (Neil Young)...Hey Hey My My...sick
  5. YES THAT IS WHAT I HAVE BEEN SAYING FOR 15 YEARS
  6. As cliche as they have become, they are pretty great live. First time was at the Sportotorium in 84 and have not missed since.
  7. Ford is a great guitarist but solo not so sure...he is like Mick Taylor in that respect. Worked great with the band but is he really anything without them?
  8. Better or worse is not the criteria for me just that it's just not the same. It is semantics really anyway, if you enjoy then go for it but for me, I have seen them many times (since around 1985) and I agree the sound is fine now with this lineup but without the original "front line"...no.
  9. Doubt it....Have not seen in setlist since that 1 tour.
  10. The "Allman Brothers Band" was really over when Dickey left (thrown out). It has been a tribute band since then. How can you say you are a band when you lost both lead guitars and the Bass player. It has been a joke to call them the ABB. I understand that the replacements are great guitarists but they are different. I also agree that without new stuff it's tough. I don't blame them because people keep paying to see them.
  11. Really, I love that song. I guess a little tedious.

    ZZ TOP

So, I took my son (21) to see ZZ. He loves classic rock (Boston, Dire......). Showtime was 8:00. No opening act. They come on at 8:15 and play till 9:25. WTF. They actually sounded pretty good but the arena had -100 energy (sit down the entire show). I am saying that the venue is the worst venue I was ever at and is a shame because 5 minutes from my house. I heard all shows must end before 10:00 so they can get you in the casino. What a joke. I am pretty sure it is the shortest show I ever went to. No opening act and play for 1:10 min. I checked setlist over the past few months...s
  16. He did say but clarified recently that for a tour he would not do that...but in interview yesterday said he swould be up for it...Only the 4 are getting in (according to all material out so far). As of who will perform...I think Gene is looking for a way to have them all perform...we will see. For Sure...no doubt she deserves in.
  17. I feel your pain but IMO all that get in this year deserve, not to say there are handfulls that should be in and will eventually get in (the 2 you speak, Chicago, Moody's, Cheap, Cars, Cure, Devo, Tull, Zevon, WIllie...just so many others) hard to just put in like 20 at 1 time. Still shocked Chic didnt get in this year. Lacking a certain mid 70s rock tone (Chicago, Miller, Doobies, Ted N, Grand Funk, Journey, Boston.....). Remember that the Nom committee puts up 15 or so and only 5-7 getting voted...the voters are around 600-700 most of them in HOF (musicians that have got previously indu
  18. Surprised at Cat Stevens getting in over Yes or DP or NWA and Hall and Oates is a bit of a surprise....all deserving this year. Be intersting to see the Nirvana performance and Cat and if Linda will show. Early rumnlings that Grohl is not going to show...I seriously doubt that. Glad to see E Street...should have included the Wailers too (bet next year for them).
  19. The other thing is how do they track the plays, would be easy for bands to pay the $10/mo and just play their songs all day...that would add up.
  20. I dont think it is horible for the creators compared to the alternative for them....Youtube....illegal downloads...and such. The service pays a much larger % to the creators than radio and I tunes (as a percentage of income). Lowrey recently posted some of the calulations. Also, the artist do not have to be on service if they dont want. As a great Artis once said.....Please get out of the new one, If you can't lend your hand, For the times they are a-changin'. http://thetrichordist.com/2013/06/24/my-song-got-played-on-pandora-1-million-times-and-all-i-got-was-16-89-less-than-what-i-make-
  21. So I have 2000 or so CD's hundreds of Albums and until around the end of 2012 would always still buy the CD on new releases but then I started with Spotify and I love it. I have not bought a CD in 6 months. I have the app on I phone and it works with my car bluetooth and I am a happy camper. For $10 a month I have access to most artists full catalogs...seems like a great deal. Plus they just added Zeppelin, although I think I have heard those songs enough for a few lifetimes.
