  1. Of course. Thanks. Only I can make a bad joke worse with a typo.
  2. "Did you hear about the panda bear that's wanted for murdering a waiter at a restaurant and then fleeing the scene?" "No." "Look it up. Just Google 'panda bear' and you'll see it." *** "Ok, I did. The Wikipedia entry says 'panda bear -- eats chutes and leaves.'"
  3. Well hopefully you're not using IE. [to anyone who is offended by this, I really mean you no harm]
  4. So after thinking about it for a while longer, I went ahead and pre-ordered the Deluxe CD so I can get the 52-page booklet. I'll still buy the LP from the record store.

  6. Forgot about Jolly Banker. Good one. I Shall Be Released? You mean the live cover of the track by The Band?
  7. I'm going to go the record store route. I'm not sure how much longer I can say I'm going to be able to support the band through purchasing concert tickets, though, with the way things have been going...
  8. I've seen that one listed at Owl & Bear before...might have to go dig it up now. Edit: here it is. http://wilcoarchive.com/Wilco%2020020526%20SBD/
  9. "Unlikely Japan" was the b-side to the "You Never Know" single -- but it was recorded during the AGIB era, if I remember correctly.
  10. I have one Wilco tote. It makes for a great reusable grocery bag.
  11. Very cool. Interesting to see the previous iterations/candidates for YHF album covers.
  12. Nicely done, thanks! You can just zip up the shows into two separate files -- that's how I often shared live stuff with my friends. It's not as convenient, I suppose, to not have the whole show in one place, but it's easier in my mind to download two 90MB zips than individual tracks.
  13. Agreed. I'm all for good deeds. Here's a much different take on the whole story: http://www.deathandtaxesmag.com/122171/arizona-diamondbacks-kill-young-fans-spirits-with-misplaced-kindness/.
  14. Perhaps I'm not explaining myself correctly or articulating it in the right way. I am by no measure opposed to rewarding good behavior. I suppose I'm from the background where you do something generous, good and charitable because it feels good, because intrinsically it's satisfying, it's a good thing to do. Not because I'm thinking "what's in it for me" or "what will I get out of this?" I'll purchase a membership to a museum or another non-profit organization because I believe in supporting the organization and want to do my part in supporting them, not because of whatever token of apprecia
  15. Good call. I forgot about shipping. I just might support my [only] local record store instead.
  16. I always enjoy running into this issue. I'll definitely buy the LP, which comes with a CD copy too, but it's unclear if that CD will have the same tracklisting as the LP -- mainly, the bonus track "Sometimes it Happens." Then I could also order the deluxe CD, for which I'd only need it for the bonus tracks -- but it doesn't include "Sometimes it Happens." Or I could order the album on iTunes to make sure I get everything digitally. Option #1 LP + Deluxe CD = $43 (but does the CD that comes with the LP -- not the deluxe one -- include "Sometimes it Happens"?) Option #2 LP + iTunes album =
  17. According to NBC Sports, the other incident (woman stealing ball from child) happened back in early June. http://offthebench.nbcsports.com/2011/06/10/e-evil-woman-watch-this-adult-steal-a-foul-ball-from-a-little-girl/
  18. It was a selfless, mature gesture on the young man's part. And then he was rewarded for his kind act with a prize greater than a ball. I applaud the young fellow's act, but let's not teach kids to be generous because they'll be rewarded for it by something greater than that which they gave up...
  19. That's right, I recall that now. Of course, in direct contrast to my earlier thought, what I enjoy so much about the version of "Ashes" that opens the DVD is that Jeff's vocals sound a bit frail and worn-out. I recognize that singers' voices get tired. Now that i think about it, the first time I saw Wilco was towards the end of their tour in 2006 and Jeff seemed pretty beat then too, and i thought the show wasn't as exciting as i had hoped. In ocotber 07 in KC it was the exact opposite...
