Agreed!

Any other clues? Lyrics? The info provided doesn't quite narrow it down.

That would be most excellent. Not that the boot recordings arent perfect, but i'd love to hear an official release of live tracks from that era, perhaps someday in the future. I guess my assumption was the opposite, that since they are listed separately, they're on different tracks on this compilation, but there's really no sense in belaboring this any further. cheers!

Older tracks that don't "work" anymore

It's the singalong that I grow tired of. And I really love both takes on "Sunken Treasure." Would love to hear the current lineup play the old arrangement sometime...or bust into the "dueling banjos" jam on "Casino Queen." -

All valid points. As I said, perhaps it's just this particular show, this particular webcast, this particular version, that didn't quite measure up. "Too Far Apart" is a good alternative, though. I dig the A.M. version, but I really love the way the band has played it and the way Jeff has sang it in recent years. -
I was listening to the stream of the Tipitina's show on wilcoworld.net today, and thought that Jeff's vocals didn't sound nearly as good on "A Magazine Called Sunset" as they did when the track was first cut...10 years ago? I felt the same way about "Nothingsevergonnastandinmywayagain." I'm all for gems like these appearing in setlists when I see them live, but at the same time, I couldn't help but feel that I'd rather listen to an older take on the tracks. On the other hand, there are some older tunes that still sound great, and probably always will. Maybe it's just because it's a webcast.

I Might gets a review in Rolling Stone

I read reviews both immediately and after the fact. Often times I'll go back and read reviews of records that I really like long after it's been out. Wilco is a perfect example for me. I started with Being There after it popped up in a "similar to" listing for something else I had purchased, I read the review, bought it, and was instantly hooked. Shortly afterwards I bought up most everything else in their catalog and immersed myself in those recordings. Only a year or so ago, after I'd lived with my own interpretations/understanding of the music for several years did I go back and dig up o -

I like the sound of the single -- the fuzz bass, the organ, the driving drum beat. I think "I Might" buy the new record. -
I thought it said Jay Bennett of Wilco, not with Wilco?

The Riverfront Times took an interesting approach in their review: http://blogs.riverfronttimes.com/atoz/2011/06/wilco_new_song_i_might.php If the link doesn't work... *** There's a new Wilco song out, and every music-blogger in America who discovered indie music via Yankee Hotel Foxtrot about ten years ago has already prepared to react. I have done my best to save you a little time by writing every possible review of this track, "I Might," you might encounter on the internet. Before that: Listen to it! It's really good, like most of the songs Wilco has released since people began ar -

Nor have I. ...it only worked a little bit slower on my android phone, but that's also because pretty much everything runs or loads slowly on my phone. -

YES. YES. Oh, how creative. Stuff like that is written more for the writer himself and his music critic buddies. He must be so pleased with himself. -
NICE.

With the age of some Wilco fans it might be more along the lines of Depends.

...and that's even more strange, because I'm really not that big on SRO. I was introduced via The Dirty South and Decoration Day. Like Sky Blue Sky or Evil Urges for many Wilco and MMJ fans, A Blessing and a Curse the first "new" release by DBT that I picked up, and seems to be a real point of contention among a lot of fans. I actually like most of it.

Fair enough! No skin off my back, doesn't change my enjoyment, let's all agree to disagree.
-
I agree with this. On Gangstabilly, I enjoy Wife Beater, Demonic Possession, and Steve McQueen. On Pizza Deliverance, I enjoy Bulldozers and Dirt and Nine Bullets. On Go Go Boots, I enjoy more than both of those albums combined.

MTV's newest hit show: Wilco, 17 and Pregnant.

Second that.

I only have one Wilco tote bag, and it saves me $.05 every time I use it at the grocery store in place of a plastic bag...

In my opinion, How to Fight Loneliness > Deeper Down. The latter, while I enjoy it on the record, is a momentum killer for me in the live setting.

My comment was not directed just to you. Your first comment, including the phrases "suggests more of the same [soft rock] mediocrity" and "darn, I was hopeful about this one," to me, makes it sound like a) you've already made up your mind about the material based on videos of the live debut of this material and you've already given up on the record before it's actually been released, like what you heard/saw on YouTube is the definitive version(s) of the songs. I respect one's right to make comments on crappy YouTube footage, Lord knows there's enough of that, I'm just saying it seems a littl

Because nobody in Wilco smiles all the time, although I do think Pat shines his teeth meaningless.
